SLHS Theater Presents Spring Production

On April 14th and 15th, the SLHS Theater Department will host their Spring Production, featuring two short plays, The Three Bully Goats Griff and The Mad Tea Party.
Vietnam veterans honored at ceremony in Carson City
Submitted by Brett Fisher on Sat, 04/02/2016 - 8:01pmNevada Vietnam War veterans were honored Saturday in Carson City as dozens gathered in Mills Park to observe the Vietnam Veterans Day of Remembrance and hold a welcome home ceremony at the Nevada Vietnam War Memorial.
Frank Reynolds, current president of the Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) local chapter 388 in Carson City, opened the ceremony with the Pledge of Allegiance and the chapter’s chaplain delivered the invocation.

Abe Yagi smacked a game-tying, two-run homer and DJ Peters slammed a tie-breaking, two-run shot as the Wildcats rallied for a 12-5 Scenic West Athletic Conference baseball victory over Utah State University Eastern on Friday in Price. Tim Lichty homered in Game 2, but the Golden Eagles rallied for an 8-5 victory.

Public Works and Q&D Construction held its first of a two-day plant salvage on Monday. Citizens interested in transplanting the plants can head to the intersection of 3rd and Curry Street after 5 p.m. today, Tuesday, March 22. Plants will be available for pick up on a first come first serve basis.

Honor Flight Nevada Fundraiser Saturday at Charlie's Grilled Subs

All menu items are included in the fundraiser, which will last until the items are gone.
Honor Flight Nevada is an annual charitable event that seeks to send military veterans of World War II, Korea, and Vietnam to Washington, D.C., to visit the war memorials built commemorating their service and sacrifice.
