Carson City sheriff's arrest log: Man jailed after attempting to sell stolen car to dealership

A 63-year-old Reno man was arrested Friday on felony charges including possession of a stolen car after he allegedly attempted to sell the car at a Carson City automotive lot, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Donald Brown Kimball was booked on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle, uttering a forged instrument and possession of a controlled substance, all felonies. He also faces a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Chautauqua performer Michael E. Fischer will portray Carson Valley rancher Heinrich F. Dangberg in a free presentation at the Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park, Saturday, June 20 beginning at 10 a.m.

H.F. Dangberg Sr. came to the United States in 1848 as a young immigrant from the Kingdom of Prussia, and thence began a journey westward that ended in Douglas County, Nevada in 1853.

A 44-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday in the 1400 block of Rand Avenue on felony drug possession charges, a gross misdemeanor charge of child neglect and possession of drug paraphernalia, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

A deputy with the Carson City Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Team was called to the area of Rand Avenue for a report of drug activity. Taken into custody was Erik Robert Compton.

A Kentucky woman was jailed Wednesday on burglary and multiple felony drug charges after being caught allegedly stealing merchandise from Walmart, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
The woman, Lacey Min Hehl, 30, told officers she had planned to sell methamphetamine, found among her belongings, in order to go to a music festival in Arkansas.

Carson City sheriff's detectives seek the public's help in finding 16-year-old runaways

UPDATE: Carson City detectives have asked the public for help in locating two 16-year-old runaway boys. Blaze Christopher Thomas was reported as a runaway teen May 16. He was entered into NCIC out of Carson City Nev. Blaze has an active warrant out of Juvenile Probation with prior runaway history. He's been known to be with friends in Lyon, Douglas, Carson City and surrounding counties.

Grandmother jailed for child neglect after leaving children in van while she shopped

A 49-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of child neglect after leaving two children inside a parked vehicle while she shopped inside a store, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
Arrested was Lilia Gutierrez. She faces two felony charges of child neglect and endangerment with a bail of $5,000.

A Carson City man, who had warrants for his arrest issued earlier this year for domestic battery and criminal contempt was taken into custody early Wednesday for domestic battery, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

The 23-year-old suspect was “highly combative” at the time of the arrest, kicking officers, screaming, using profanity and threatening to fight, the arrest report states.

Early in the week of May 3, persons unknown erected a sign near the junction of Main Street, Silver City (Highway 342), with the Truck Route (Highway 341) blaming Comstock Mining Inc., the Storey County Commissioners and the Nevada Department of Transportation for the closure of the highway (342) between Silver City and Gold Hill. Before dawn of the third day afterward, the sign had been obliterated and removed by a second party of persons unknown.
