Halloween stuff is plentiful (go HERE for a complete list of upcoming activities), pumpkins are patched, the ghosts are walking, and there are loads of events to keep you, your friends and family entertained. The Harvest Train at the Nevada Railroad Museum is a fun treat for kids of all ages. It’s time for the annual all-day downtown Ghost Walk. From 10 a.m.

Carson City Harvest Train returns to Railroad Museum this weekend

The Nevada State Railroad Museum in Carson City hosts its second Harvest Train weekend this Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 21-22, with steam train rides, a pumpkin patch, craft fair and food trucks.

Leaves turning, wind blowing, and all things pumpkin sprouting up everywhere. It is absolutely autumn in Northern Nevada. Get ready for Halloween with your choice of pumpkin patches. Seeliger Elementary School is hosting theirs for the twenty-fifth year in a row. Take a trip on the V and T Steam Train at the Nevada Railroad Museum, actually take several trips. The annual Harvest Train event offers an all-day wristband that allows for as many rides as you’d like, in addition to museum admission. So many more fun activities are available to you, you’ll have to read on to see them all.

Union Carson cuts ribbon on new downtown restaurant venture

Although it has been serving customers since June, The Union Carson opened with little fan-fare until Thursday night when a ribbon-cutting and grand opening bash was held at 302 North Carson Street as a fundraising benefit for the Boys and Girls Club of Western Nevada and The Greenhouse Project.

25th annual Pumpkin Patch this Saturday at Carson City's Seeliger Elementary

It’s time for the Nevada Day Weekend celebration! On Saturday, Oct. 28, watch the famous Nevada Day Parade, then head over to “Brewfest 2017!” where you’ll be able to try a variety of different beers from around the world.

Pat Travers will also be performing live at the Carson Nugget for two shows at 7PM and 9PM.

The Arlington Event Center will also host a Craft & Vendor Fair from Oct. 27-29.

It’s time for the Nevada Day Weekend celebration! This year the celebration starts with a party on Friday, Oct. 27 with FREE live entertainment in downtown Carson City across from the Carson Nugget. Hours for the event are from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. and will support local charities like Advocates to End Domestic Violence and F.I.S.H.

Nevada Railroad Museum in Carson City to host Harvest Train this weekend

Carson High Wrestling Kicks Off Season with Oktoberfest Fundraiser

The leaves have changed color and the temperature has begun to drop; as quickly as Summer seemed to arrive this year, the Fall season has rolled right on in.

The change of season can mean a lot of different things to people; but to Nick Redwine, Fall means the beginning of the wrestling season. Nick Redwine was named the new head coach to the Varsity wrestling team at Carson High School this past Spring and he has been preparing ever since.

Shaheen Beauchamp Builder gives Carson Mall exterior upgrades

CARSON CITY — Shaheen Beauchamp Builders has begun an exterior facelift on the Carson Mall under request from The Carrington Company, owners of the mall. The mall and all of its stores will be open and accessible during the project, which is expected to be completed in under three months.

Six years ago, shots rang out and Carson City was thrust into the middle of a tragedy. Four people died in the IHOP shooting, three of them National Guard members. Wheeled Truck Wednesday at the Brewery Arts Center is a ‘weather permitting’ event, so keep your eye out for rain clouds.

Monday, Labor Day 2017: Things to do in Carson City and beyond

Labor Day commemorates the men and women whose sweat made this such a great country and has been a national holiday since 1894. Celebrate this unofficial end-of-summer with a trip to the lake, a backyard bar-be-que, the parade in Virginia City, or one of the many fun events going on around town. Head over to St. Peter’s Episcopal Church for their annual Inter-faith Potluck Picnic and don’t forget to bring some silverware and something yummy to share.

The great thing about Labor Day weekend is that it just keeps going. The Best in the West Rib Cook-off offers up family fun, live music, and plenty of bar-be-qued delights all the way through Monday. For those with younger kids, consider a day at Mills Park. This is the last weekend for summertime train rides through the cottonwoods. Join Muscle Powered at Silver Saddle Ranch by the Carson River for a bike or hike this morning. Bring water and a camera, you never know what wildlife will make an appearance.

Accelerated course at WNC makes construction careers more accessible, lucrative

To meet the growing crunch for qualified construction craft laborers, Western Nevada College, in partnership with Nevada Builders Alliance, JOIN, Inc. and JobConnect, is again offering an accelerated, nationally recognized construction certification class at its Carson City campus. The course runs Monday through Friday, Aug. 28 through Oct. 26.
