NNDA launches program to help companies expand, acquire property
Submitted by editor on Wed, 10/28/2015 - 9:53amThe Northern Nevada Development Authority announced Wednesday the launch of a new program that is designed to shorten the amount of time it takes for a company to acquire or build a new facility.
The Nevada Certified Site Program as part of their continuing effort to attract more businesses to the Silver State. The program is aimed to provide critical decision making information to business owners and site selectors to allow informed decisions, said NNDA Executive Director Robert Hooper.

Due to Nevada Day events including a parade, Carson Street will be closed on Saturday, Oct. 31, from approximately 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Numerous side streets connected to Carson Street will be impacted as well. Detours will be signed.

This is the perfect opportunity to be creative for the holidays! Day 1 we will learn how to make a mask for Dia de los Muertos or for Halloween! Day 2, 3, and 4 we will learn how to construct a mug, a box and a rattle sculpture (pictured above). Our final two days will be set aside for glazing and any finishing touches on the projects. Nicole Bommarito will be leading the class and demonstrating construction techniques.
Carson City Manager Joins the Nevada State EB-5 Regional Center’s Board of Directors

Additionally, Marano mentors at the Adams Hub for Innovation and is a member of the Western Nevada College Institutional Advisory Council. Further, he has been an active member of International City Managers’ Association.

NDOT's Kingsbury Grade Project receives TRPA 'Best in Basin' Award

The project substantially completed ahead of schedule in 2014, and was recognized as a water quality and erosion control improvement that helped enhance the Lake Tahoe environment.

Judge rules for Brewery Arts Center in lease dispute against Foodies Bystro
Submitted by admin on Thu, 09/24/2015 - 9:57amThe Brewery Arts Center prevailed in Carson Justice Court Tuesday morning in the nonprofit’s quest to evict Foodies Bystro from its spot in the center’s facility at the corner of King and Division streets.
Judge Steven McMorris agreed with the BAC’s request to invalidate a portion of the lease that would have allowed Foodies to renew the lease for another three years. The judge found that the wording of the section was vague because it allowed for the lease to be renewed, but didn’t specify that the renewal would be under the same terms and conditions.
