Silver Rail 2015 railroad multimedia exhibition comes to Carson City
Silver Rail 2015 is an informal Oct. 3 gathering of railroad photographers, artists, writers, historians and preservationists. The event features a full day of multimedia presentations of documentary and creative railroad photography and fellowship.
Author Jeff Moore will debut images from his forthcoming new book on the McCloud River Railroad, to be published by Signature Press this fall. Richard and Wanda Canton, authors of Railroad in the Sky, will update us on the continuing efforts to preserve the Bodie Railway & Lumber Company.
Professor Bruce Blackadar of UNR will take us back ten years ago to the beginning of construction on the Reno (train) Trench. Todd Moore will give us an update on the construction of the replica V&T Lyon locomotive and we have some short film clips from retired railroad engineer and founder of the Portola Railroad Museum Norman Holmes.
This and much more — a full day of unique photography and photojournalism. Tickets are available through the Brewery Arts Center website here or may be purchased at the door on the day of the event. Food and drinks will be available for purchase at the event.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m at the Brewery Arts Center, 449 West King Street, Carson City. Tickets are $15 per person, $14 for Brewery Arts Center and Friends of the Nevada State Railroad Museum members.
