On a typical holiday weekend, the Tahoe Basin turns into a recreation thoroughfare as tens of thousands of day and overnight visitors who sustain our local economy drive up from the San Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento and Reno.

“The ideas passed down through tribal culture, I think a lot of people might dismiss as primitive,” he said. “But in my experience there’s a lot of knowledge that’s useful today. The spirit of my work can apply to anybody.”

Forest Service announces spring 2017 Lake Tahoe recreation area opening dates
