Tami’s particular job description requires her to both physically care for and academically work with students who have severe and profound learning disabilities. She exuberantly enjoys working with these students in the Comprehensive Life Skills class. This often requires Tami to lift, carry, feed, and assist with other physical challenges as these students need full-time adult supervision.

Each student must deliver an 8-12 minute speech in front of 4-5 Carson City Community members, and this is no easy task as, statistically, many fear public speaking more than death.

For brothers Jeff and Paul Young of Carson City, becoming professional brewers just seemed to fit like the right pair of sneakers.
Their company, the Shoe Tree Brewing Company, is scheduled to break ground on its roughly 2,000 square-foot brewery and retail space Monday on the Carson Hot Springs Resort property located at 1500 Old Hot Springs Road in Carson City.

His awards and recognitions are way too numerous to list, so here are the greatest highlights. The American Sportscasters Association named him Sportscaster of the Century in 2000 and first on its all-time Top-50 list later. Numerous halls of fame, a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame, etc.

Named for a former NCMPR president who helped shape the organization in its early years, the Petrizzo Award honors an NCMPR professional for longtime accomplishments in college marketing and public relations.
Western Nevada College nursing student named 2016 Regents Scholar Award recipient

Since graduating from high school in 2006, Meza Cabrera consistently found ways to help others. As an outreach educator for the Live Violence Free program in South Lake Tahoe, Calif., she has assisted domestic violence, child abuse and sexual abuse victims. She also been a student assistant at the Humboldt State University Health Center, and has participated in blood and toothbrush drives while attending WNC.
Coding and 3-D modeling camp offered Tuesday and Thursday at Carson City Library

Sixth- through eighth-graders can attend the Tuesday camp while a camp for fourth- and fifth-graders will be held Thursday. Both camps will run 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Digitorium. Breakfast and lunch will be provided both days.

Meditation Rooms opened at UNR

These “Meditation and Reflection Rooms” feature two individual rooms and a larger space for reflection, meditation and prayer. It includes various cabinets where each group can keep their required religious icons and articles locked to be brought out when needed by individuals.

“You can move it up or down or also turn the rotation of the claw,” explained Anthony. He showed how to pick up different items with it.

Ibarra participated in two years of auto technician courses and two years in auto body courses. Gershel experimented in a variety of CTE courses including culinary, web design and welding.
