Ceramic Sculpting Class at the Brewery Arts Center
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Wed, 04/05/2017 - 10:49amThe Brewery Arts Center, 449 W King St, is offering this fun and exciting 8 week class, Mondays beginning April 17 from 1:00-4:00. It is designed for beginning as well as more experienced students.
You will learn techniques in creating non-functional ceramics as you learn to use clay to build artistic sculptures. Projects will include instruction in a wide range of sculpting methods. You will be exposed to concepts such as composition, weight, color, form, and texture while creating contemporary pieces and beautiful three dimensional ceramic art.

Credited with introducing the instrument to new generations of musicians, Bryan Bowers is to the autoharp what Earl Scruggs was to the five-string banjo. He’s played with The Dillards, Sam Bush, Curtis Burch, and Courtney Johnson of the ground-breaking New Grass Revival.

Men of Worth was formed in 1986 by Scotsman Donnie Macdonald and Irishman James Keigher who came together to perform Irish and Scottish folk music, combining traditional and contemporary styles.

This new class is designed for beginning and more experienced students. You will learn techniques in clay sculpting while you learn about basic tools, glazes and studio equipment. Projects will include instruction in a range of sculpting as you create three dimensional ceramic art.
Students will need to bring a towel.
A supply fee of $20 will be collected by instructor at the first class. Tuition $165 non members/$150 members.
