A Family Bingo Night fundraiser for a local boy, Bryar Phelps, who was injured in a vehicle accident and is now in critical care, is scheduled for Saturday, June 22 at 5 p.m. in the Carson Mall Shopping Center.

All proceeds from the event will go toward Bryar and his family.

Heading into Father’s Day weekend, there's plenty of jam-packed activities around the Carson City region. There's Flag Day ceremonies at the Nevada Veterans Memorial and at the Elks Lodge. The Stewart Father’s Day Powwow happens Friday to Sunday and features hundreds of American Indian dancers, drummers artists and cultural enthusiasts. Lace up the tennis shoes for the Eastside Historical tour of the capital city hosted by Muscle Powered. Journey of Hope returns to Western Nevada College at 5 p.m. to settle into the evening. Meals on Wheels Carson City joins in nationwide March for Meals

Meals on Wheels Carson City, a program administered by the Carson City Senior Center, announced today that it will be participating in the 17th annual March for Meals, a month-long, nationwide celebration of Meal on Wheels and our senior neighbors who rely on the vital service to remain healthy and independent at home.

Rolling in the Knead: Cookie dough sales raise whopping $9,200 for Carson City school

CARSON CITY — Eagle Valley Middle School went ‘dough to dough’ in the Parent Teacher Organization’s annual cookie dough fundraiser. In total, the gross sales were equivalent to more than $23,000. The school earns about 40 percent of total gross sales, bringing the net total to $9,200. A total of 1,547 units were sold.

Western Nevada College hosts Dia de los Muertos event Thursday to share Latino culture with community

Carson City’s Western Nevada College Campus hosted a Dia de los Muertos event in honor of the Day of the Dead in the Bristlecone building Thursday.

In addition to traditional altar displays, children from the WNC daycare and preschool attended and played games such as Mexican Bingo as seen in the first photo, put on by the Latino Outreach Program.
