The Fourth of July will be colored with parades, barbecues, carnivals, concerts and plenty of fireworks around Carson City, Carson Valley, Lake Tahoe and Virginia City.

Sierra Nevada Kiwanis Presents Star Spangled Bingo, July 4th, 2019 at the Carson City Senior Center. Doors open at 10 a.m., Bingo starts at noon. Sierra Nevada Kiwanis will be grilling burgers and hot dogs.

Happy Saturday, Carson City! There are a ton of events going on in our beautiful capital city today as we officially head into summer following yesterday's solstice. A Family Bingo Night fundraiser for a local boy, Bryar Phelps, who was injured in a vehicle accident and is now in critical care, is scheduled for Saturday, June 22 at 5 p.m. in the Carson Mall Shopping Center.

All proceeds from the event will go toward Bryar and his family.

Heading into the weekend, there's a bevy of events around the Carson City region that brings a cool breeze to the first three days of summer. The 16th Motor Officer Challenge kicks off Friday at 7 a.m. at Mills Park. Lace up the shoes for a Friday morning walk at East Silver Saddle Ranch hosted by Muscle Powered.

Heading into Father’s Day weekend, there's plenty of jam-packed activities around the Carson City region. There's Flag Day ceremonies at the Nevada Veterans Memorial and at the Elks Lodge. The Stewart Father’s Day Powwow happens Friday to Sunday and features hundreds of American Indian dancers, drummers artists and cultural enthusiasts. Lace up the tennis shoes for the Eastside Historical tour of the capital city hosted by Muscle Powered. Journey of Hope returns to Western Nevada College at 5 p.m. to settle into the evening. Open Mic Night at A to Zen will cap-off an eventful Friday heading into the weekend.

Sassafras Eclectic Food Joint will kick-off Father’s Day in Carson City during its fifth annual Sassabration fundraiser event featuring Brunch and Bingo with Bea Arthur, a tribute to the late comedy actress, singer and activist Bea Arthur on Sunday, June 16 at 11 a.m.

Heading into Wednesday, June 12, 2019 means we are half way through the work week. Temperatures will be around the 90 mark with a chance of afternoon showers. Activities lined up include art classes, a hike designed for tots through Carson City Parks and Recreation, a Ninja aerobic class at Yaple's Ballroom and you can hear local author CW Bayer talk about three of his books on area history at Browsers Corner Book Store. The capital city will celebrate Tinseltown, classic cinema and raise money for Carson City school art programs at the 5th annual Hollywood Gala on Saturday, May 18 with the theme "A Star is Born" hosted by Carson City Classic Cinema Club.

Sassafras Eclectic Food Joint in Carson City will hold its kickoff Sassabration fundraiser event "Brunch and Bingo with Bea," a tribute to the late comedy actress, singer and activist Bea Arthur on May 12.

The Kiwanis Club of Carson City is hosting its annual Pasta Feed to benefit Meals on Wheels Carson City this Saturday, April 13, from 1 to 4 p.m., at the Carson City Senior Center, 911 Beverly Drive.

Tickets are $6, and include pasta, garlic bread, salad, beverage and dessert. Kids under 5 eat free.

Good morning Carson City! It's finally starting to feel like Spring around here. The weather today is going to be another gorgeous day, sunny with highs of 56, a low of 28, and 52 percent humidity. On the schedule today we have a ton of wonderful events, from a live music benefit for the homeless, to pollinator workshops, a Roller Derby match, a Veteran's Remembrance Day celebration at Mills Park, and much more. Meals on Wheels Carson City, a program administered by the Carson City Senior Center, announced today that it will be participating in the 17th annual March for Meals, a month-long, nationwide celebration of Meal on Wheels and our senior neighbors who rely on the vital service to remain healthy and independent at home.

Not only is Friday the first day of March in this 2019 calendar year but it is also the end of the work week. And for this we say welcome to a month that brings us the Downtown Carson City Wine Walk, which is this Saturday, NCAA basketball playoffs, St. Patrick's Day celebrations and the first day of spring. Bingo games at the Carson City Senior Center received a boost from a new bingo machine and electronic flash board, thanks to donations from community members and the Kiwanis Club of Sierra Nevada.

Carson Middle School's annual Chili Bingo Night takes place this Friday, March 1, in the school's gym. The event begins at 6 p.m. Proceeds from this fundraiser go to Carson Middle School Band program which is raising money for new instruments, storage space, and upgraded percussion.

This is an official fundraiser for the Historical Society of Dayton Valley to help preserve history in the Dayton Valley and surrounding Comstock area.
We have bingo at the Dayton Senior Center the 1st and 3rd Friday of every month. Please come join us for some fun and comradely. Come rain or come shine, we will be playing BINGO.

CARSON CITY — Eagle Valley Middle School went ‘dough to dough’ in the Parent Teacher Organization’s annual cookie dough fundraiser. In total, the gross sales were equivalent to more than $23,000. The school earns about 40 percent of total gross sales, bringing the net total to $9,200. A total of 1,547 units were sold.

Carson City’s Western Nevada College Campus hosted a Dia de los Muertos event in honor of the Day of the Dead in the Bristlecone building Thursday.

In addition to traditional altar displays, children from the WNC daycare and preschool attended and played games such as Mexican Bingo as seen in the first photo, put on by the Latino Outreach Program.

Good morning Carson City and welcome to Thursday, Nov. 1, 2018. We're now in the month that ushers in the holiday season with Thanksgiving and Christmas around the corner. As for today, there's a number of activities around town including a blood drive, networking opportunities, El Dia De Los Muertos celebration at WNC, an afternoon hike, a movie showing at the Jack C. Davis Observatory, art displays and more.

Latino Outreach and the Associated Students of Western Nevada will present the third annual El Dia De Los Muertos (The Day of the Dead) celebration from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1 in the Art Gallery in the Bristlecone Building on Western Nevada College’s Carson City campus.

CARSON CITY — Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval has proclaimed Oct. 2-5, 2018 the “Week of Respect.” In tow with the proclamation, the Carson City School District’s superintendent has made a Pledge of Achievement to ensure consistent implementation of anti-bullying programs and practices in all schools and work environments.
