A pair from Bakersfield, Calif. were arrested in the 3800 block of S. Carson Street early Friday morning for allegedly trafficking methamphetamine, and prohibited people in possession of a gun, among other offenses.

Harvey Mahoney, 31, and Aimee Negre, 36, were arrested around 3:30 a.m. after deputies were walking through the parking lot of a local S. Carson Street casino when they made contact with the pair.

Heading into the weekend, there’s a mountain of jam-packed activities over the next three days. Events include the 100th annual Candy Dance in Genoa, the Carson City Community Center Garage Sale, free walks at Nevada State Parks, Virginia City’s Street Vibrations Fall Rally, the 31st annual All-Breed Dog Shows, The Beatles Flashback tribute band concert and much more!

UPDATE: Due to weather concerns, the Pirate Pup Parade will be moved indoors outside of the Black Box Theater at the Brewery Arts Center. The film showing of "Hook" will be held in the BAC Performance Hall. Food Trucks will be outside in the parking lot.

Going into Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2019, we're looking at a slight chance of showers with highs in the upper 60s around the Carson City region. Looking ahead there's art workshops and showings, as well as the Scallywaggers Pirate Pup Parade, Wheeled Food Wednesday and outdoor showing of the film classic "Hook" at the Brewery Arts Center, acrylic pour jewelry making at Rustically Divine, Salsa dancing and more.

Have fun with Improv! We will use games, team-building exercises and basic improvisational acting structures. No experience necessary. Students will gain confidence on stage, employ public speaking skills, think quickly on their feet and create fun scenes out of thin air. They will put on a show for their families and friends during the last class.

According to the police report, two teenagers were arrested in a store parking lot in the 1900 block of N. Carson Street for engaging in a physical altercation while a two-month-old infant between them.

A 19-year-old transient man and an 18-year-old transient woman were booked on child neglect/endangerment and domestic battery first after several concerned citizens called deputies to respond to a fight. The reporting parties stated there was a man and a woman physically fighting in the parking lot and pulling an infant from each other during the fight.

Heading into Thursday, Sept. 12, 2019, events around the capital city region include a morning hike at Lake Tahoe, a Healthy Communities meeting in Virginia City, a cross-country convoy of vintage military vehicles that will make a stopover at the Nevada State Railroad Museum, activities at the Carson City Library, book author presentations at the Nevada State Library and Archives and the Brewery Arts Center, food trucks at Mills Park and more. Meet the Author at the BAC is a free event Thursday, Sept. 2th, 5:15pm, open to the public. Sandie La Nae, author of “Weird Carson City” will talk about her book with PowerPoint presentation, and have copies available for purchase and to autograph.

The event is September 12th, 5:15pm at the ballroom at the Brewery Arts Center, 449 King Street, Carson City, Nev. The public is welcome, and beverages and wine benefiting the Brewery Arts will be available for purchase.

Good morning and good day, Carson City. It is Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2019. There's a remembrance this evening at the 911 Memorial at Mills Park beginning at 6 p.m., hosted by Carson City Christian Ministerial Fellowship. Also today is a health screening available through Carson Tahoe Health and Wellness, art workshops and showings, a farm to fork tour in Douglas County, Wheeled Food Wednesday at the BAC and more.

The next Carson City outdoor summer movie night is Sept. 18 including food trucks, a pet costume contest and the classic childhood pirate movie, “Hook.”

Head to the Brewery Art Center’s Minnesota Street Stage, where Wheeled Food Wednesday food trucks will be serving 5-8 p.m. and the pirate-themed pet costume contest will begin at 6:30 p.m. — followed by the free film showing at sunset.

A Carson City woman was arrested by Carson City deputies Thursday afternoon after allegedly attempting to steal $80,000 from her ex-employer, according to the arrest report.

Helen Donner Kelly was arrested after deputies were contacted by the accountant of the business who reported that they had received a call from the bank advising that Kelly had entered the bank that day and requested to close the current business account for the employer and have the funds transferred into her personal account.

CARSON CITY — The Beatles Flashback is coming to the Brewery Art Center’s performance hall on Sept. 28, 2019 at 7 p.m. to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Abbey Road, which was originally released Sept. 26, 1969. Come by the BAC to hear some of your favorite Beatles hits as we celebrate 50 years of the Fab Four.

Going into Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2019, we're looking at sunshine and temperatures in the low 90s. Events around the capital city include a morning walk, evening hike and a bike ride with Muscle Powered, a scary makeup demonstration at the Brewery Arts Center and the 1946 version of "The Postman Always Rings Twice," presented by the Carson City Classic Cinema Club. The Levitt AMP concerts are over but Wheeled Food Wednesdays are still rolling through each week to the Brewery Art Center to bring great food to the Carson City community. Wheeled Food Wednesday takes place on the BAC campus parking lot, 511 West King Street from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

Marching forward to the midweek, Wednesday, August 28, 2019 will continue to bring sunny skies with a chance of isolated thunderstorms around the capital city. Ahead for the day includes NNDA's Business Edge breakfast at Carson Valley Inn, A "Lunch and Learn" workshop at Carson Nugget, art showings, a Chautauqua presentation of "Sisters of the Sage" at Dangberg Historic Park, Salsa dancing and more.

Wired Wednesday Tuesday's Talk will be Lynzie Ruecker, from Image Perspectives "The Injury Simulation People!" She will be demonstrating how to apply a wound and how to do a Zombie face.

A 48-year-old Carson City woman was arrested in the 3100 block of Highway 50 E. Friday night for felony suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and domestic battery first.

Shannon Rae Atkins was arrested after deputies received a report of a battery that occurred between Atkins and her business partner.

Carson City's newest writing group, We're Always Write CC Chapter, welcomes all levels of writers to join this fun group! Come get inspired to bring out the writer in you! The Brewery Arts Center in Carson City brings a triple-shot of music, food and film as it combines its wheeled food Wednesday event with the Jazz and Beyond festival and an outdoor viewing of the Oscar-winning classic 1960 musical "West Side Story."

We're heading into the midweek, Wednesday, August 21, 2019 with sunny skies and activities throughout the day including day 2 of the Jukebox International Film Festival at the Carson City Community Center, Jazz and Beyond festival performances to complement Wheeled Food Wednesday at the BAC followed by a classic outdoor movie to boot, "West Side Story." Money begets money. And, that statement is true when it comes to the Carson City Parks & Recreation Foundation.

Recently, the Foundation was the recipient of a $20,000 matching grant from the Robert Z. Hawkins Foundation to continue to refresh the Bob Boldrick Theater lobby within the community center that started in February allowing then Chamber Chairman of the Board Bob Fredlund to present the Foundation with a check for $20,300.

The Wicked Tinkers headline the Levitt AMP Carson City outdoor Music Series this Saturday at the Brewery Arts Center’s Change Companies Outdoor Amphitheater. Only two shows remain for Carson City concert series and this Saturday's show, you won't want to miss.

It’s still summer, so Wheeled Food Wednesdays are still rolling through each week to the Brewery Art Center to bring great food to the community. This week, in cooperation with Jazz and Beyond Carson City Music Festival, the Wesley Orsolic Trio will be playing a live show at the BAC from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

There's a new group for writers that meets at the Brewery Arts Center; a salary negotiation workshop at WNC, a chautauqua and author presentations at Dangberg Historic Park. There's also the Jazz and Beyond Carson City Music Festival that will feature the Wesley Orsolic Trio during Wheeled Food Wednesday at the BAC, with jams to continue at Living the Good Life; there's also a real estate workshop for veterans, art showings, salsa dancing and more. The Dead Winter Carpenters brought a bluegrass and country flair to the fourth annual Levitt AMP outdoor Music Series on Saturday.

Attendees by the hundreds filled the Change Companies Stage on Minnesota Street at the Brewery Arts Center to soak in another warm summer night with a pair of terrific live performances.

The Brewery Arts Center welcomes Americana favorites from Lake Tahoe, The Dead Winter Carpenters, as the headline act to The Change Companies’ stage for the Levitt AMP Carson City free music series this Saturday, August 10. Acclaimed singer singer-writer Spike McGuire is the opening act.

Heading into Tuesday Aug. 6, which means the safest family celebration of the year at the 17th annual Carson City National Night Out. This is an event like no other, where agencies who work in areas of public health and safety gather at Mills Park to meet with Carson City residents. This event features 3 hours of information booths, games, demonstrations, food and fun. Also happening Tuesday is a free robotics mini-camp for kids in nearby Silver City, Reciprocity Inc. will host a fundraiser at Rustically Divine, there's the Culinary Traveler’s Club's Polynesian Paradise featured at Bleu Café; the Carson City Classic Cinema Club will feature a Sci-Fi favorite at the BAC, plus fitness outings and more.
