Christmas Tree Lighting Festival today in Dayton
The annual Dayton Christmas Tree lighting is today, Sunday, Dec. 4 beginning at 5 p.m. at Our Park. Festivities include pictures with Santa, a Civil War Christmas display, cookies and hot drinks, music, carols, an ugly sweater contest, plus if you donate a non-perishable food item, you have a chance to be the official tree lighter.
The event is sponsored by Soroptimist International of Comstock, Kiwanis Club of Dayton, Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce, Denise Crites Photography, Dayton High School Cheer Squad, Dayton Historical Society, Nevada Civil War Volunteers, Lt. Carl Johnson of NHP, Dayton Star-All, Lyon County Central Fire District, the Blue Knights NV II Chapter Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club, Lyon County Parks and Recreation, Dan McLaughlin and Santa Claus.
