Santa Claus will visit Postal Annex in Carson City from 1 to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 17, 3827 South Carson St., in the Raley's Shopping Center. Pictures with Santa for all: Children, families and even your pets.

Santa is coming to MidTown Marketplace on Friday Dec. 22 from 3pm-5pm! Come take your Holiday pictures with Santa at Midtown Marketplace located at 104 Corbett St. in Carson City. Cost for this event is to bring in an unwrapped toy that will be donated to the Salvation Army.

Bring your furry friend for their own festive portrait to celebrate this holiday season. Santa will be at Benson's Feed on December 4th from 9:30-3:00 to take pictures with his furry friends.

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region. The annual Silver and Snowflakes Festival of Lights holiday celebration goes virtual on Friday. Santa Claus will arrive virtually at the Children's Museum of Northern Nevada and in-person at Battle Born Harley Davidson on Saturday for pictures with families and kids of all ages. Combined with live music and dinner specials at Living the Good Life, the state capital has events lined up for the holidays! Read on for more information.

This Friday through Sunday, Dec. 13-15, the first Homestead Holidays at Silver Saddle Ranch, hosted by the Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space Department, will be bringing a free family event to the community with some good old-fashioned Christmas charm.

Santa Claus is visiting Carson Kids Dental, 1621 E. William Street, Carson City this Friday, Dec. 13 from 4 to 7 p.m. Everyone is invited, you do not need to be a patient to attend! Free pictures with Santa, Milk and Cookies, and Santa is bringing his Face Painting Elf along too! Every child gets to pick a gift to take home with them!

Carson Tahoe Care Center invites community members to grab their cameras and join residents and guests for pictures with Santa on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 9 a.m. to noon. Capture the holiday spirit with personalized Santa photos, complete with a Winter Wonderland backdrop and holiday refreshments.

Saturday, November 30

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days. Events include the 31st season of the Nutcracker Ballet, a Feast with a Hero fundraiser at Slot World, Small Business Saturday throughout Carson City and Carson Valley, photos with Santa, a Telegraph Square sign dedication, Polar Express train rides at the V&T Railroad and more!

The last Thursday of November means a big gobble gobble, Happy Thanksgiving to all. Enjoy in the games, festivities, activities at home and outdoors. Events are at a minimum, for obvious reasons, but the two big ones are traditions for us in the capital city. The Carson City Turkey Trot at the Governor's Mansion and the free Carson Nugget Thanksgiving community dinner. Enjoy your day and any slight break in the weather. More winter storms are on the way.

While it isn't quite Christmas-weather yet, I'm assuming at some point it will get cold and we can finally get into the upcoming holiday spirit! When that time comes, there are a ton of great Santa-related events going on in Carson City for you and the little ones to enjoy.

Bring your family to meet and take pictures with Santa Claus! Santa will be visiting the Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada on Dec. 7 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with crafts from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., story time at 10 a.m., with Santa-related activities throughout!

This Friday and Saturday is a milestone in Carson City as Carson High School will celebrate its 25th annual Holiday Craft Fair.

DeBug Computer is hosting its annual Photos with Santa event on Saturday, Nov. 30, between 3 and 6 p.m. at its Carson City location, 1817 N. Stewart Street #30.

Keith Barham, president and co-owner of DeBug Computer, said this the seventh year the company has hosted the event, and each year, all proceeds are donated to an area non-profit.

The Carson High Holiday Craft Fair will be held at the Carson High School Friday November 22nd from 5-8pm and Saturday November 23rd from 9-4pm. Admission on Friday is $2.00 and Saturday is $1.50 or $1.00 with a canned food item. All canned food items will be donated to Advocates to End Domestic Violence.

There are only two more Saturdays until Christmas, and Santa Claus is back in Carson City again this weekend ahead of the big holiday.

Students and educators at Carson City’s Empire Elementary School were treated once more to inspirational coaching sessions in the art of storytelling and writing throughout the entire week. Children’s Author Gary Hogg will visit all classrooms K-5 to model a 45-minute writing lesson for teachers and students alike.

You better watch out, you better not cry, you better not pout, I'm telling you why: Because Santa Claus is coming to Carson City!

DeBug Computer’s annual Pictures With Santa is almost here! In collaboration with the Carson City Holiday With a Hero fundraiser, we will be offering photos with Santa Claus and your child or well-behaved pet.

In what has become a holiday tradition, critters and children of all ages are invited to join CASI at Benson's Feed in Carson City for Pictures with Santa.

Santa and Mrs. Claus are coming to DeBug Computer's annual Holiday with a Hero fundraiser. Bring your child (or well behaved pet) to DeBug Computer and have their picture taken with Santa for a $5 donation. All proceeds will help provide a Christmas to a local child in need.

There are some fairly excited kids throughout the valley. This last Friday before Christmas marks the beginning of winter break. The Carson City Library invites everyone in the community to participate in the annual Winter Read-a-thon with a goal of 90,000 minutes read (or listened to) over the next two weeks. Sign up on-line or at their kick-off event this afternoon. Comedian John Mencarelli headlines Carson Comedy inside the Carson Nugget, and you’ll find the Rebekah Chase Band on stage in their Loft. Friday, Dec. 22

Thursday, December 21 is the winter solstice, making it the longest night and the shortest day of the year. With Christmas just a few days away, the holiday activities are still going strong. Share your wish list with Santa at Red’s Old 395 tonight and you’ll walk away with a free photograph. Your ugliest sweater is invited to make an appearance at the Carson Cigar Company; bring a white elephant gift if you’d like to participate in the gift exchange.

On a morning like this, I realize that I need to ask Santa for some windshield wipers. Stay safe out there, Carson City, the roads are wet. The Carson Library is usually a great place to retreat on days like this, but you’ll find their doors closed for the next few weeks: time for a makeover. If you’d like to check out a book or use the wireless internet, you’ll find a ‘pop-up’ library in the Community Center this week, and in the Adams Hub on Proctor Street next week.

Winter is settling in, even if our mountains are lacking their snowy blanket. It’s chilly out there, but the members of Muscle Powered head out for a walk and a hike every Tuesday unless the rain or snow is falling. Join them tonight for a walk around downtown Carson City to take in the twinkling lights and decorations; there will even be a stop afterward for a warm beverage. If you’d rather exercise your brain, the Geeks Who Drink Pub Quiz at Sassafras and DJ Trivia at the Fox Brewpub are your choices.

It may be Monday, but the next one on the way is Christmas. If you still have some loved ones on your holiday shopping list, the Craft Fair at the Carson Mall is sure to have something for everyone. Monday also means football. Watch the Falcons take on the Buccaneers at Living the Good Life. You’ll find good food, good drinks, and the game on all of their screens. Put some swing in your step at Carson Lanes. The High Sierra Swing Dance Club meets weekly to learn some new dance moves and put them into action. Santa has been spotted at Red’s Old 395: from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Time to make some joyful noise in the capital city. The annual community holiday show at the Brewery Arts Center features John and Cherie Shipley, with the special addition of the Joyful Noise Children’s Chorus. These chilly December evenings are perfect for checking out the lights and decorations around the area. Candy Cane Lane, the drive-thru display at Carson Valley Inn in Minden, runs every night. Nevada Christmas, a private home in the Stephanie Way neighborhood, goes all out with a light show that’s choreographed to music.

Welcome to Wednesday. If you haven’t had a chance to tell Ole’ Nick what you’d like to see under the tree, then wander over to Red’s Old 395 for a complementary picture and a moment on his lap. See what our local crafters and artisans have to offer at the Christmas Craft Show inside Carson Mall. It’s karaoke night at Caterpillar’s Hookah Lounge for those over 18. Families with younger ones will be interested in the Polar Express playing on the big screen at the Galaxy Theater.
