Carson City sheriff's log: Deputies make warrant arrest, take man in civil protective custody
A 66-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Wednesday, 3:44 p.m. in the area of Carmine and Bunch streets for a misdemeanor failure to appear warrant issued March 15, 2016 out of Carson City Justice Court, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.
According to the arrest report, a deputy observed a vehicle in the area of Carmine and Airport. He entered the vehicle license plate into the patrol vehicle data computer, which came back attached with a warrant.
The officer conducted a traffic stop and met with the woman who was advised of the cash-only bail warrant for her arrest. Bail: $250.
— A 66-year-old man was taken into civil protective custody at 4:24 p.m. after he had tore his meniscus and was intoxicated. He had been transported to the hospital by ambulance earlier in the day for the injury and was set to be released from the hospital.
The man was unable to walk due to his injury. A deputy attempted to call the man’s sister but no one answered the phone. The man requested he be taken to a motel but was unable to show any money he could use for the room. The officer was uncomfortable with leaving the man out in the cold without warm clothes, shelter or ability to walk. He was taken to jail where he was booked under civil protective custody.
