Carson City Sheriff's Office seeks help locating driver hauling backhoe involved in hit and run

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office is seeking the help of the public, for a hit and run which occurred on Nov. 11, 2021 at the intersection of South Curry Street and West Koontz Lane in Carson City.

There is no suspect at this time but a vehicle description was obtained. The suspect drives an early 2015 to 2020 Dodge Ram pickup truck black in color with an unknown license plate. The pickup was hauling a black trailer with a white and red backhoe excavator.

According to the reporting party and video collected on scene, the driver stopped at the stop sign on South Curry Street and West Koontz Lane.

The boom of the backhoe caught the phone line as the truck drove through the intersection and brought down the phone line. The driver did not stop and continued to drive southbound on South Curry Street.

The Carson City Fire Department is on scene of a reported fire at Carson Sunset Apartments, 900 North Saliman Road in Carson City.

With an 8-2 win on Sunday, the Reno Aces ended the first half of their season on a high note, winning four out of five games against the Sacramento River Cats at Greater Nevada Field.

Multiple vehicles are reported to be involved in an automobile accident at the intersection of East Nye Lane and East College Parkway in Carson City.

UPDATE: 1:25PM: Forward progress of the fire on Masonic Drive has been stopped, according to a report from the Record-Courier, but not before one home caught fire and became fully involved.
The blaze has been held to the one structure so far. Air support has been cancelled as a result of forward progress made by ground crews.

An 18 year-old Carson City woman was arrested early Saturday morning at 4:38 a.m. in the 3900 block of Pheasant Drive for misdemeanor obstruction and minor consuming alcohol following a chase that began after she refused orders to stop, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported.
