Carson City Sheriff's arrest log: Minor booked for consuming alcohol, obstruction after chase

An 18 year-old Carson City woman was arrested early Saturday morning at 4:38 a.m. in the 3900 block of Pheasant Drive for misdemeanor obstruction and minor consuming alcohol following a chase that began after she refused orders to stop, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported.

According to the arrest report, a Sheriff's deputies had responded to the Woodside Drive area on report of a fight involving several subjects. Upon law enforcement arrival, about 20 subjects were seen fleeing from the scene.

Two individuals were spotted running south on Fairview Drive toward Pheasant, where they ran east after a deputy shined his light on them and identified himself.

They continued running in what appeared to be an obvious attempt to avoid law enforcement after the deputy had yelled for the subjects to stop, the report said.

A chase ensued and the deputy was able to catch up to one subject hiding behind a fence line. The female suspect refused orders twice to get on the ground, the report said, so the deputy grabbed her arm to detain her and she finally complied by going to the ground. She was placed in handcuffs and identified.

While making contact with the subject, the deputy noted the odor of alcohol coming from the suspect's breath. She was also observed to exhibit slurred speech and red, watery eyes.

Once transported to the Carson City Jail, the suspect submitted to a preliminary breath test (PBT), which yielded breath-alcohol content (BAC) of .189 percent. Bail: $300.
