Carson City deputies make arrests for burglary, weapon possession and lewdness

A 38-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday for felony suspicion of residential burglary and possession of stolen property, a sheriff’s deputy said.

Christopher Roy Glisson was taken into custody at 6:42 p.m. in the 800 block of South Roop Street.

According to the arrest report, a deputy was dispatched to a residence on Little Lane regarding a residential burglary that had occurred. The deputy met with the victims who explained they had been on vacation, returning Friday and discovered multiple items were missing.

The victims believed the suspect came in from the back sliding glass door. The deputy began to canvass the neighborhood and knocked on the door of a unit at 833 South Roop Street. A male answered the door and stated he was the maintenance man for the complex.

The man was asked if he had seen anything unusual. He stated he did not but there was a male that lived in the complex who they’ve had issues with in the past, including making his way into a vacant residence on the property.

The man, who it was learned was Glisson, told apartment personnel he had to use the toilet. The deputy was informed the man wrote a letter of apology and charges were never filed, the arrest report states.

Deputies continued the investigation and learned the suspect had been doing contract work in the complex. Officers met with Glisson at his residence who admitted to stealing items from the nearby residence while owners had been on vacation, the arrest report states.

He allowed officers inside his residence where they recovered the stolen items. Glisson was taken into custody without incident. Bail: $45,000.

In other arrests:
— A 47-year-old Carson City man, Michael Leroy Rudder, was arrested Saturday, 11:39 p.m. in the 1500 block of East Long Street for felony suspicion of possession of a firearm by a person convicted of domestic violence.

According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched for a welfare check request from the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities were informed the man allegedly had threatened family members with an assault rifle, reported he needed an ambulance and then hung up, the arrest report states.

Deputies arrived at the Long Street residence and spoke with the man, who appeared heavily intoxicated. He informed deputies that the AR-15 rifle he had was in a closet in his room. The officer located the gun and two loaded 30 round magazines in the closed.

A criminal history from dispatch showed the man having a domestic violence charge on his record from 2004 with a guilty disposition. He was arrested for possession of a firearm by a person with a domestic violence conviction.

A Carson City deputy spoke with a Lyon County deputy and informed him of the arrest. Bail: $20,000.

— A 33-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 10:29 a.m. in the 1000 block of Woodside Drive for misdemeanor suspicion of domestic battery.

According to the arrest report, a deputy was dispatched to a Woodside Drive apartment for a report of domestic battery.

The officer arrived and observed the suspect standing at the front door of an apartment and the victim who was sitting on the stairway with an infant and toddler next to the front door. There was also a child car child seat outside the front door.

The deputy learned the couple got into an argument regarding household chores. The man allegedly pushed the woman out of the front door of the apartment, causing her to fall down. The victim told deputies while she was on the ground the suspect kicked her several times in the head, the arrest report states.

The deputy checked the victim for injuries and did not observe any cuts or bruises, or lumps in the scalp area. The officer did observed some redness on the woman’s right forearm.

The suspect was interviewed, and admitted to having an argument with the woman, that he pushed her out the front door, which caused her to fall toward the ground. He stated he did not push her to the ground. He was asked several times what else happened. The suspect denied kicking the victim. He was arrested for suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery. Bail: $3,137.

— An 19-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 7:25 p.m. in the area of Lepire and Fairview for misdemeanor suspicion of obstructing and violation of Department of Alternative Sentencing conditions, a sheriff’s deputy said.

According to the arrest report, a deputy was dispatched to the area regarding a domestic dispute and a man in the area who partially matched the description that was carrying a purse.

The deputy located the man and asked if he was involved in a dispute with a female. He stated he wasn’t. He was asked why he had the purse. The man stated it belonged to his girlfriend and he was meeting her at the store since she had earlier left it at his residence.

He provided a name for his girlfriend, which turned out to be a fake name. He also said he did not know her last name. After further investigation, the man was questioned and eventually told the deputy he had lied and stated the reason why he lied is because he has a “no contact” order.

Deputies spoke with the female who stated she had been in a verbal argument with the man and that she left her purse and ran away, which was why he had her purse.

Dispatch advised the man was on Alternative Sentencing with a clause stating that he could not associate with minors. He was arrested for obstructing and violation of DAS. Bail: $3,412.

— A 34-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 9:36 p.m. in the 600 block of Hot Springs Road for misdemeanor suspicion of open and gross lewdness.

According to the arrest report, three witnesses told investigating deputies they saw the man masturbating on the outside patio at the apartment complex where children were nearby swimming at a pool.

The suspect, who was inside the apartment with his 1-year-old son when deputies spoke with him, said he never left his apartment and did not go outside on the apartment balcony. He stated he had consumed alcohol earlier in the evening. He provided a preliminary breath test of .095.

Deputies investigating observed the porch and a white folding chair where the man was seen allegedly sitting and masturbating, the arrest report states. He was arrested for suspicion of misdemeanor suspicion of open and gross lewdness. A deputy remained on scene until the mother of the child arrived. Bail: $2,500.

UPDATE THURSDAY: The Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the two people who died Wednesday morning following the two vehicle crash on I-580 in Carson City. They are Alejandra Hernandez Valtierra, 36, and Viola Santoyo Huizar, 48, both of Carson City.

UPDATE 12:42PM: Southbound I-580 in Carson City was opened as of around 11 a.m., said a Nevada State Police spokeswoman, who provided more details of the fatal crash that happened early Wednesday morning.

Both the driver of a car and a truck involved in the crash died. Their names have not been released pending notification of family members. The car, which was going the wrong way — northbound in the southbound lane — struck the truck and caught on fire, according to a NSP preliminary investigation thus far. The vehicle makes are unknown at this time.

A 37-year-old man was arrested for suspicion of obstruction, trespassing and felony sex offender failing to register, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
