Carson City emergency crews respond to crash at South Carson Street and Old Clear Creek

Carson City Fire Department, sheriff's deputies and the Nevada Highway Patrol responded early Wednesday evening to a vehicle crash in the northbound lane of South Carson Street at Old Clear Creek Road.

The crash, reported shortly before 5:30 p.m., involves three vehicles and is blocking traffic. Paramedics evaluated three people on scene, all declining medical attention via ambulance.

The northbound lane of South Carson Street is blocked. Motorists can expect delays.

North Lake Tahoe and Tahoe Douglas fire protection districts and the USDA Forest Service will continue prescribed fire operations this week in the Lake Tahoe Basin, conditions and weather permitting. Smoke may be visible.

Carson City Health and Human Services is reporting Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2021 that there are 26 new cases and 16 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad County region. This brings the total number of cases to 11,142, with 8,819 recoveries and 207 deaths; 2,116 cases remain active.

The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that happened Tuesday morning south of China Springs Road in Douglas County.

CARSON CITY — On Tuesday, by executive order, Gov. Steve Sisolak ordered the flags of the United States and the State of Nevada to be flown at half-staff at the State Capitol and State public buildings and grounds until sunset February 26 in honor of the 500,000 Americans who have passed away due to COVID-19. That includes more than 4,900 Nevadans.
