Vandals damage new Battle Born Memorial on the state capitol grounds in Carson City
A newly dedicated memorial on the State Capitol grounds in Carson City was damaged Monday by vandals on razor scooters and bicycles, according to the Nevada Department of Public Safety Capitol Police.
Four individuals were recorded by Capitol grounds security cameras at around 6:45 p.m. riding the razor scooters and bicycles over the granite portion of the newly dedicated Battle Born Memorial. The actions are believed to have ultimately caused damage to the memorial.
Capitol Police have identified four possible suspects believed to be responsible.
The Battle Born Memorial was unveiled on Nov. 9 and is officially dedicated to honor Nevada’s fallen service members.
As the investigation is currently ongoing, no further information can be released at this time.
