Carson City sheriff’s arrest log: Woman jailed for felony DUI after crash with motorcycle

A 35-year-old Carson City woman was arrested early Saturday on felony suspicion of DUI causing injury and other charges after colliding with a motorcycle rider in the area of College Parkway and Highway 50 East, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.

Alisha Marie Fanyo, 35, was taken into custody at 3:10 a.m. after being identified as the driver involved in the crash. According to the arrest report, deputies were called to the scene, which involved an adult female motorcycle rider. She received non-life threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital by Carson City Fire Department.

When officers arrived Fanyo was sitting in the driver’s seat of the 2002 Toyota Corolla. The officer could smell a strong odor of alcohol coming from the woman. She admitted to a sergeant who arrived on scene that she was driving the Toyota.

The crash scene indicated the sedan collided into the motorcycle’s rear end. Deputies on scene began a DUI alcohol investigation. A deputy asked the woman to provide a driver’s license, registration and proof of insurance. The woman could not provide a registration and insurance card and said the sedan belonged to a family member who is the registered owner of the vehicle.

The woman agreed to submit to standardized field sobriety tests. She did not perform them as explained and began making excuses and became argumentative when she performed poorly on the tests. During the tests, the woman told the officer she was cold. When the officer asked if she wanted to go to the jail to perform the test in a warm place, the woman refused the offer, saying “hell no!” the arrest report states.

At 3:30 a.m. she submitted to a preliminary breath test which indicated she was over .08 BAC. She was arrested. At that point the woman became uncooperative, argumentative and resistant. She insisted that she submitted to all the tests required of her and didn’t understand why she had been arrested. She refused to listen to explanations or a request for evidentiary tests.

The deputy applied for a telephonic search warrant to draw blood. The woman refused and stated that she would never allow officers to get blood from her, the arrest report states. The woman violently resisted all three blood draws and was repeatedly warned she faced obstruction charges. She threatened to sue the jail deputies and the arresting officer. As a deputy held onto the woman’s wrist, she dug her fingernails into the palm of his hand, according to the arrest report.
Fanyo was charged with the following: Felony DUI accident causing injury, gross misdemeanor battery on a peace officer, three counts obstructing and delaying a peace officer, and following to closely. Bail: $40,000.

— A 37-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Friday on felony suspicion of possessing a stolen vehicle and a misdemeanor warrant charge of failure to appear in court, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.

Debra Fishbein was arrested at 3:55 p.m. in the area of Fifth and Harbin streets. According to the arrest report, deputies were called to the area in an attempt to locate the suspect regarding the rental car she had rented and had not returned. It had been reported stolen.

The officer went to the woman’s place of business and learned she had gone to Reno but would be returning. The officer waited and observed the suspect walk from the rear of an apartment complex and enter the front door.

The woman exited the building. Th officer responded to the rear of the building and located the stolen vehicle parked with the keys in the ignition. The woman’s boyfriend was in the front seat of the vehicle. He was briefly detained while other officers searched the area for the woman. The woman was found walking westbound on east Fifth Street near Harbin and was arrested. Dispatch advised the woman also a failure to appear warrant on May 21, 2015. She was booked without incident. Bail: $25,175.

— A Carson City woman, Alexandria Michelle McClintock, was arrested Thursday, 3:20 p.m. in the 100 block of East Winnie Lane on felony suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and a misdemeanor warrant.

According to the arrest report, the woman was walking with a man, and was identified by a Carson City Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Team officer who knew she had a warrant issued for her arrest. When the officer stopped the pair, the woman handed the man a small pink container. The officer informed the woman that he saw the exchange of the container. The woman told the officer “I know you did,” and the man handed the officer the container that contained a plastic baggie with methamphetamine inside. Bail: $3,340.

— A 21-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 1:15 a.m. in the area of Macy Court and Northfield on suspicion of DUI and reckless driving. According to the arrest report a deputy observed a black Toyota sedan driving southbound on Table Rock Drive at a high rate of speed. The driver didn’t slow when he approached deputies standing near his travel lane who were attending to another call.

The deputy followed the vehicle, which had then stopped. The car was running with brake lights illuminated. The officer activated his overhead lights.

The officer could smell a strong odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle. The officer spoke with the driver who apologized for speeding and admitted he didn’t see the deputies when he drove past.

The deputy asked the man to provide a driver’s license, registration and proof of insurance. The officer asked the man if he had consumed any alcoholic beverages. The man told the officer he had a “couple beers,” the arrest report states.

The deputy asked the man if he would voluntarily perform in standardized field sobriety tests. The man agreed and showed signs of impairment. A preliminary breath test registered a .093 and he was arrested. He provided two evidentiary breath tests at jail, with a .102 and and .095. Bail: $1,439.

— A 23-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday, 6:49 p.m. in the 500 block of Jeanell Drive on suspicion of domestic battery. According to the arrest report, deputies were called to the area. Dispatch advised that Carson City Fire Department was on its way and the male suspect had left the scene on foot with an unknown direction of travel.

Officer met with the victim and her roommate while another deputy attempted to locate the suspect. The victim was crying and unable to maintain focus. The woman told deputies she had black outed, her head hurt and she didn’t know where her boyfriend was.

After being treated by the fire department the woman told the officer she remembered being in an argument with the man, and that he pushed her which caused her to fall and hit her head on a dog kennel in the bedroom. The officer didn’t observe any signs of battery on the victim, the arrest report states.

The woman called the man on a cell phone and he agreed to come back to the location. The officer spoke with the suspect who stated he was in an argument and that during the argument he attempted to leave but the victim continued to stand in the door way. He said she pushed on his chest with her hands several times while he was trying to leave. He stated he had to push the woman to get out of the way so he could leave. He said when he pushed the woman she fell to the ground. He told the officer he slammed the door while he exited the building. There were no physical signs of battery on the suspect.

The witness with the victim said she saw the man push the woman to the ground outside the bedroom. The officer determined the man to be the primary aggressor and he was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery. Bail: $3,137.

— A 74-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday, 4:51 p.m. in the 100 block of East Long Street on a misdemeanor charge of battery. According to the arrest report, the man was combative with FISH staff, and had battered an employee that morning. Bail: $1,137.
