NHP identifies Minden man in fatal crash on I-580 and Eastlake Boulevard
Nevada State Police, Highway Patrol division has identified a Minden man who died in an Oct. 24 single vehicle crash on I-580 and Eastlake Boulevard in Washoe County.
Patrick Pearson, 66, died from injuries in the crash, reported Oct. 24 at 11:31 a.m., according to a news release from NHP.
The preliminary investigation indicates that a 2007 GMC Yukon, driven by Patrick Pearson, was traveling southbound on I-580 in the number two travel lane. For reasons not determined at this time, the GMC Yukon departed the number two travel lane into the paved right shoulder, the release states.
The right side of the GMC Yukon struck the right-side concrete barrier multiple times while the GMC Yukon continued southbound. The GMC Yukon came to rest in contact with the right shoulder concrete barrier approximately 4,500 feet south of where the GMC Yukon initially struck the concrete barrier, according to NHP.
The Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Northern Command West Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating this crash.
