Employers line up for Friday job fair at Carson City Community Center
Nearly 50 employers and 20 employment and educational resources will be at an upcoming Friday job fair hosted by Carson City Health and Human Services and the Carson City Chamber of Commerce. Job seekers are encouraged to attend.
The event will be from 2 to 4:30 p.m. for the general public. Veterans will be able to enter the Job Fair at 1:30p.m. for early admission. The Job fair will be located in the large gym at the Carson City Community Center on 851 East William Street, Carson City.
Some of the employers include The State of Nevada, NDOT, Carson Tahoe Hospital, Harrah's and Harveys Lake Tahoe, large retailers, hospitality, sales, home health care and more. Representatives from colleges and universities will also be present as well as numerous career training programs represented.
A similar job fair in February resulted in 73 job seekers gaining employment from attending the fair and meeting employers, said Lynn Ellis, workforce program manager for Carson City Health and Human Services.
Job Seekers should bring an updated résumé, dress to impress, and be prepared to fill out applications. Workshops for interview preparation and résumé are being held by Carson City Health and Human Services each Wednesday afternoon from 2 to 4 p.m.
