Vehicle pursuit that started in south Carson City ends with suspect in custody
A suspect in a residential burglary who also had a court order violation led Carson City Sheriff's Office deputies in a vehicle and foot pursuit Wednesday afternoon, which ended with the suspect in custody.
The vehicle pursuit began at around 12:25 p.m. and for the most part was a slow speed through various side streets in South Carson City.
The suspect called 911 dispatch during the pursuit, as several Carson City Sheriff's Office deputies attempted to get him to stop. At one point, deputies attempted to make a "pit" stop swipe of the vehicle to get the driver to stop.
There was reportedly a blown tire on the suspect's vehicle, which became stuck before the suspect attempted to enter I-580.
The suspect, who reportedly had a knife, later jumped out of the vehicle and took off running in a field off of Fairview near Warm Springs Correctional Center, and was stopped by CCSO deputies and a K9.
One deputy suffered minor injuries, according to Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong.
UPDATE: The suspect, Justin Pierre Arsenault, was booked for suspicion of felony home invasion, burglary and eluding and misdemeanor reckless driving and destruction of property. Bail: $20,000.
