Local production of 'A Chorus Line' comes to Carson City via Wild Horse Stage Company

“Ah 5-6-7-8!” Wild Horse Stage Company is thrilled to present one of the longest running musicals in Broadway history, “A Chorus Line.” With more than 6,000 Broadway performances during a 25-year run, “A Chorus Line” won nine Tony Awards including Best Musical, Best Director and Best Choreographer, as well as the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

The Northern Nevada Dream Center’s 4th annual Back To School Bash is happening this Saturday, August 20 from 4 to 6 pm. In partnership with Lifepoint Church and Shine A Jesus Church, the Bash will be held at Fuji Park at 601 Old Clear Creek Road in Carson City.

Northern Nevada lecturer Mike Thomas' free presentations on Aug. 19 and 20 at Jack C. Davis Observatory on Western Nevada College's Carson City campus have been canceled. However, JCDO Director Dr. Thomas Herring plans to provide a presentation focused on photos taken by the NASA's James Webb Space Telescope on Saturday night at 7:30 to kick off a weekly Star Party.

Just before noon a fire was reported on BLM land in Brunswick Canyon.

According to Fire Chief Sean Slamon, it is a vegetation fire in a remote part of Brunswick Canyon.

Kids & Horses is excited to welcome back a valley event for car enthusiasts and appreciators called Friendship Day. Friendship Day was a valley event that happened for years within the local car community. Unfortunately, when the original host moved, the group was left without a place to hold the gathering.

At approximately 5:30 PM on June 26, 2024 the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, Central Command Patrol Squad responded to the Lahontan State Park Ranger Station at Lake Lahontan for a report of an adult male subject who had been shot multiple times. Upon arrival, deputies learned that the shooting took place at a residence in the 3900 block of Birch Street in Silver Springs.
