Carson City inmate faces additional offenses after assaulting fellow inmate during breakfast
An inmate at the Carson City Jail was booked on additional offenses after allegedly slamming his food tray into another inmate’s face multiple times during breakfast.
According to the report, Thomas Raymond Brown, 32, was booked on the additional offenses after deputies were collecting trays during morning meal times in Male General when they heard a verbal argument in the Trusty POD.
Deputies responded to the Trusty POD to see what the issue was, and at the door they could see two inmates having a verbal altercation. One of whom was Brown.
Deputies separated the inmates, and pulled one inmate out by his shirt into the hallway. The inmate told deputies he had just been assaulted by Brown.
Deputies reviewed a video of the incident which, according to the report, showed the following:
"The video shows Brown getting up from his assigned bed and make his way over to the other inmate, who was sitting on his bed. Brown began yelling at the other inmate, which was only for a short moment before he struck the other inmate with his food tray in the face multiple times. During the assault on the other inmate, Brown drops his tray and continues to strike the other inmate in the face and upper body area with his fists. The other inmate was able to make it to his feet and over to the POD door."
