Carson City Assessor announces new computer aided property tax, mass appraisal system
Carson City Assessor’s Office is pleased to announce the implementation of a new Property Tax and Computer Aided Mass Appraisal system.
The CAMA system will automate the appraisal and assessment administration functions, allowing for accurate valuation and complete parcel maintenance, and assessment. The system features a responsive design with an adjustable user interface suitable for all devices, effortless navigation, and data export.
“The Assessor’s website has always been one of the highest visited websites in Carson City, and we hope that the general public will like how easy the new website will be to use,” said Dave Dawley, Carson City Assessor.
The newly implemented system replaces a soon to be unsupported computer valuation system known as Advanced Data Systems (ADS) which was announced to cease operations in December 2019.
In response to the ADS announcement a committee was formed, and 15 Nevada rural counties collaborated on the deliberation of potential replacement options. Additionally, 3 of these 15 counties — Carson City, Douglas County, and Lyon County — went through the Request for Proposal process to expand search efforts for a replacement system.
After much evaluation, Carson City entered a contract with DEVNET, Inc. for Property Tax and CAMA software development and licensing, with the goal of enhancing information accessibility and usage.
