UPDATE: Dayton shelter in place lifted, man sought for domestic battery arrested

UPDATE: The Lyon County Sheriff's Office submitted the following press release: On July 25, 2024, at approximately 10:05 PM, Lyon County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 400 block of Brookfield Ct. in Dayton, Nevada for a report of a disturbance.

During the initial investigation, it was determined that the subject was 49-year old Paul Carnahan of Dayton.

Information gathered on scene revealed that Carnahan had left a residence armed with a knife and was suffering from multiple injuries. As the investigation continued, deputies determined that Carnahan had battered a female subject prior to fleeing the residence.

Deputies determined there was probable cause for the arrest of Carnahan for domestic battery and actively searched for him in the area for several hours.

Due to Carnahan being armed with a knife, while actively fleeing deputies in a residential neighborhood, a Shelter in Place advisory was issued for residents in the area.

Early this morning, July 26, 2024, at approximately 8:24 AM, Deputies made contact with Carnahan, who was placed under arrest without further incident.

Carnahan was treated for his injuries and subsequently transported to the Lyon County Jail, where he was booked on the charge of Domestic Battery, with a total bail amount of $3,140.

UPDATE: The subject has been located, per LYSO.
