Who lives in a pineapple under the sea? Youth Theatre Carson City's 'SpongeBob Musical' begins Friday

Youth Theatre Carson City is thrilled to announce our upcoming production of Nickelodeon’s The SpongeBob Musical, Youth Edition, playing four performances only July 26-28, 2024 in the Bob Boldrick Theatre at the Carson City Community Center.
Plunge into this stunning all-singing, all-dancing, dynamic stage show! When the citizens of Bikini Bottom discover that a volcano will soon erupt and destroy their humble home, Spongebob and his friends must come together to save the fate of their undersea world.
With music and songs by a host of celebrated musicians including Aerosmith, Sara Bareilles, Cyndi Lauper, John Legend, Panic! At The Disco, Lady A, Plain White T’s, David Bowie and many more, The Spongebob Musical is an unforgettable experience for the whole family.
The SpongeBob Musical, Youth Edition features the talents of over 40 local youth grades K-12, both onstage and off. Leading the cast are Maria Benshoof as SpongeBob Squarepants, Emma Cavner as Patrick Star, and Michelle Cho as Sandy Cheeks. Also featured are Micah Giron as Squidward, Bay Eaton as Plankton, Nygel Toreson as Mr. Krabs, as well as a host of colorful cartoon sea creatures bringing this engaging story to life. Unique to this production, Youth Theatre Carson City has employed the talents of several new young collaborators on their creative team including student directors Benjamin Achoka and Shelby Taylor, student choreographers Jocelyn Pedersen and Alexandria Bennett, student musical director and sound technician Parker Schmid, and student production photographer Kylie Carrigan.
“These amazing young actors have worked so hard to bring the world of Bikini Bottom to life. We have had so much fun with these crazy characters,” commented Andie Wilkerson, Artistic Director of Youth Theatre Carson City and Producer of The SpongeBob Musical, Youth Edition. “Each and every cast member shines on the stage, and I cannot wait to share their incredible performances with our audiences. We are truly blessed to have such wonderful young people in our community.”
Performances of The SpongeBob Musical, Youth Edition will run July 26-27 at 7pm and July 27-28 at 2pm in the Bob Boldrick Theatre at the Carson City Community Center located at 851 E. William Street in Carson City. Tickets are $15 General Admission, $12 Students and Seniors.
