Blacktop Buffet at the Brewery Arts Center

Family friendly summer fun isn’t just for Saturday nights at Brewery Arts Center. Enjoy 10 weeks of street food and musical acts presented by Yates Law P.C. from 5-8 p.m. every Wednesday night from June 26 - August 28, 2024. Each week a variety of food trucks will circle the BAC Performance Hall parking lot and smaller acts will get a chance to play the big stage.

Grown Up and Guppies at the Carson City Aquatic Center

Head over to the Carson City Aquatics Center every Wednesday at 10 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. for Grown ups and Guppies. Making the water fun for your guppy is the most important step in preparing for swim lessons. This class is designed to acquaint adult and child wild play activities and to teach very basic fundamental skills. The course is parent-driven, under the supervision of an instructor. No registration required. Class is limited to 12 adult/child pairs on a first-come first served basis. For ages 6 months to 4 years.

Storytime Wednesdays at the Children's Museum of Northern Nevada

Join in for weekly storytime with an accompanying craft each Wednesday. Recommended for children ages 1 - 6. All included with museum admission.

Art Studio Craft Classes at the Children's Museum of Northern Nevada

Douglas County: Amelia Earhart Makes an Appearance at Dangberg Historic Park July 24 in Gardnerville

The celebration of the 150th Anniversary of Chautauqua at Dangberg Historic Park continues by celebrating Wednesday night Chautauquas with the theme: "Follow Us on an Adventure!" All Wednesday evening Chautauquans have an adventurous tale to share with their audience. On Wednesday, July 24, from 6:30-7:30 pm, Leslie Goddard will portray Amelia Earhart, the first female to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean.

Douglas: Jakota Wass concert, local mystery author continue in July at Dangberg Historic Park

On Thursday, July 18, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Jakota Wass, Carson Valley musician, makes his Dangberg Historic Park debut bringing his own brand of country western music. Thursday evening concert ticket prices are $20 for 17 years and older. Youth 16 years and younger are free when accompanied by an adult.

The STEM Classroom is open every Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. for funny educational, weekly activities. All included with museum admission. All ages welcome.

Fingerboarding Club at the Carson City Library

Enjoy doing tricks and having fun with miniature skateboards. A table will be set up with a skatepark for an hour of fnigerboarding. Fingerboards will be provided but feel free to bring your own. Open to patrons 14 and up. No registration required. From 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Carson City Friday Family Fun Days at Mills Park

Each Friday, event goers can find either live music or a community movie in the park along with a selection of food trucks. Kids actives include giant Jenga, giant 4-across, giant velcro kick darts, cornhole, bean bag skee ball, chicken fingers, and a selfie spot.

The Nevada State Museum is celebrating the 110th anniversary of the launching of the U.S.S. Nevada (BB-36) battleship this month and historic Coin Press No. 1 will be minting the U.S.S. Nevada commemorative medallion in honor of the storied and distinguished U.S. Navy vessel every Saturday in July.

Steam Train Rides at the Nevada State Railroad Museum

NSRM will have steam train rides behind historic Virginia & Truckee locomotive No. 25. The train operates on a loop around the museum and the ride lasts approximately 35 minutes. Trains will depart from the Wabuska Depot every hour starting at 10:15am last train departing at 3:15pm. Fares are $12 ages 12 and over; $6 ages 4-11 and museum members; and FREE for ages 3 and under. First ride is at 10:15am and the last ride is 3:15pm

Tragedy of the St. Francis Dam, The Worst Manmade Disaster in California History.

On March 12, 1928, the City of Los Angeles’s St Francis Dam collapsed killing over 600 people and destroying everything in its 50-mile rampage to the sea.
