NHP identifies Reno man in fatal Carson City rollover at Goni Road

On Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at approximately 11:31 p.m., Nevada Highway Patrol troopers responded to a fatal crash at Goni Road at Fermi Road in Carson City per a memorandum of understanding with the Carson City Sheriff’s Office.

Preliminary investigation shows that a white 2005 Ford Explorer was traveling southbound on Goni Road approaching Fermi Road. The driver of the Explorer began to negotiate a curve, entered a broadside skid, left the roadway to the left, and overturned.

The driver, Beau Mathews-Amos, a 24-year-old Reno resident, was declared deceased at the scene.

This crash is being investigated by the Nevada Highway Patrol Northern Command West Multi-Disciplinary Investigation and Reconstruction Team (M.I.R.T.) - NHP Case #210701654.

Muscle Powered, Trash Mob

This Saturday morning 19 intrepid Carson City area "Trash Mobbers" came out in the drizzle to pick up what others left behind. We met at the south end of North Lompa Lane and everyone spread out along the Multi-Use Path to gather nearly 600 pounds of trash from that point south to 5th street.
