Man walking with his pants down arrested for indecent exposure

A 66 year-old male transient was arrested Friday afternoon at 12:24 p.m. in the area of N. Carson and W. Ann streets in downtown Carson City for gross misdemeanor indecent exposure after multiple witnesses observed him with his pants down, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported.

According to the arrest report, witnesses observed a male subject walking toward William Street with his pants down around his ankles and fully exposed.

One witness interviewed at the scene reported that the subject's "ass was exposed" as well as his front and he was also defecating in public, the report said.

The subject was identified by a Michigan ID card and questioned about the incident. He told Sheriff's deputies that his pants and fallen down because he was having trouble with his belt.

— A man and woman were arrested early Friday morning at 1:50 a.m. in the 2900 block of Mayflower Way for felony vehicle burglary, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported.

Sarah Sue Evans, 25, of Carson City and 23 year-old transient Brent Michael Martin were placed in custody following an investigation into a reported vehicle burglary that occurred on Mayflower Way.

According to the arrest report, Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the area on report of a vehicle burglary in progress. The reporting party (RP) told Carson City Dispatch that an unknown male and female were breaking into his vehicle. It was too dark outside for the RP to provide a description of the suspects.

Arriving deputies observed two subjects, a male and a female, walking southbound on Bel Aire Way. The pair was stopped and identified themselves to officers as Evans and Martin, who acknowledged being on Mayflower Way but denied entering any vehicles, the report said.

After Evans and Martin were questioned separately, however, the former admitted that they were involved in the reported vehicle burglary. Evans was Mirandized and agreed to speak further with officers.

She stated that she was inside of the burglarized vehicle and took items from the center console, including a green microfiber cloth.

Upon being Mirandized, Martin continued to insist he was not involved in the vehicle burglary, the report said.

According to the RP, both the male and female suspects were observed inside of his vehicle. They exited after the RP had yelled at them and ran south from the scene.

The RP said he knew one of the subjects was female despite the darkness, because a female voice yelled something back at him as the pair was fleeing the scene.

In describing the subjects, the RP stated the male was wearing dark clothing and the female had on a lighter-colored shirt, the report. This description matched the clothing worn by Martin and Evans.

The RP said his vehicle was missing the tops to his center console as well as a green microfiber towel, the combined value of which was estimated at about $250.

Black and pink backpacks were located during the investigation at a residence on Bel Aire Way, the report said. The pink backpack, in fact, contained a green microfiber cloth matching the RP's description as well as a cell phone belonging to Evans.

Martin and Evans denied ownership of either backpack. They were handcuffed, taken into custody and transported to the Carson City Jail.

During the booking process, latex gloves were located in Martin's pocket and a black handkerchief was found in a pouch pocket of Evans' sweater, the report said. The handkerchief was tie in a way to be used for concealing a face.

Bail: $20,000 each.

— A 41 year-old South Lake Tahoe, CA, man was arrested early Friday morning at 12:15 a.m. in the area of Interstate 580 and Fairview Drive for misdemeanor first-offense driving under the influence (DUI), a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported.

According to the arrest report, a traffic stop was made on a white Chevrolet pickup that was swerving into other travel lanes and appeared unable to maintain its lane.

Contact was made with the male driver, who smelled of alcohol. The Sheriff's deputy asked him to step out of the vehicle.

The suspect driver stated he was swerving because he was trying to enter his address on the GPS app in his cell phone, the report said.

When asked if he had been consuming any alcohol, the driver said he had drank only one beer.

The suspect consented to standard field sobriety tests (SFSTs), which showed multiple clues and signs of alcohol impairment.

When asked again how much he had been drinking, the suspect reported had consumed 3-4 beers, the report said.

The suspect driver also consented to a preliminary breath test (PBT), which he blew .180 percent breath-alcohol content (BAC).

As a result, the suspect was handcuffed, placed in custody and transported to the Carson City Jail for booking.

Bail: $1,269.

His driver's license was used to confirm identity and he was run through Carson City Dispatch for wants and warrants.

The records check confirmed an active bench warrant issued by the Carson City Justice Court for failure to appear on a traffic violation.

He was then placed in custody and booked into the jail.
