Carson City cycling studio hosts 24-hour fundraising ride for Boys and Girls Club
Life Cycle Nevada will host a 24-hour community ride for charity in Carson City beginning Friday. Ten teams have signed up and have raised around $2,000 so far for the Boys and Girls Club Healthy Habits program.
The event is at Life Cycle Elite Spin Studio, Unit 3, 403 Hot Springs Road in Carson City. Teams will be riding indoors for 24 hours straight. The ride will start at 2 p.m. Friday and end at 2 p.m., Saturday. Teams consist of 1 to 4 riders.
The event was organized by Jill Larson, who coordinated with the Boys and Girls Club and the participating riders and sponsors. Also organizing the event is Shane Trotter, who co-owns the facility with wife Nikki Trotter. Shane will be the one who will be riding the full event solo. The nine other teams have 4 riders.
The fundraiser is to support the Healthy Habits program offered at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada. The program is committed to ensuring every child has access to good nutrition, personal hygiene, physical fitness, and team-building activities. You can donate to the teams by going here.
If you're up for the challenge, signups are still available by going here. The cost is $150 per team. As of Thursday there was room for three more teams.
