Brush fire reported south of Dayton area
UPDATE 7:27PM: The fire near Santa Maria Ranch burned around .01 of an acre and is listed as controlled, according to Minden dispatch.

Central Lyon Fire and other agencies were called late Saturday afternoon to a brush fire on the south side of Highway 50 south of the Dayton area.
At around 4:15 p.m. dispatch received multiple callers reporting smoke in the area. The rate of spread is unknown at this time, however, an air attack has been requested. According to Don Zibel from Eastern Sierra Fire and Ice, a Facebook page dedicated to weather emergencies, there was lightning in the area.
An arriving battalion chief said the fire is on BLM land.
Weather conditions are changing, with rain showers and lightning strikes settling into the region.
