Carson City sheriff’s log: Drunk man jailed after shoving woman, locking himself in a room
A 43-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday in the 300 block of Arthur Street on a misdemeanor charge of battery, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said. According to the arrest report, officers were called to a residence in reference to a battery. Upon arrival officers met with two women, one who said her adult son was intoxicated and barricaded himself in his bedroom.
The woman advised she had received disturbing text messages from her son while she was at work. She said her son advised he was drunk and refused to do his chores. Concerned about his well being, the woman returned home and sought help from a tenant. She said her son made threats toward her saying he would do something while she slept.
The tenant arrived at the residence, saw the home in disarray and tried to intervene. When she told the man to grow up, the man became upset and shoved her, at which point she called 911, the arrest report states. When deputies arrived the man was in his room and had an axe with him. The woman the man had shoved advised she wanted to press charges of battery against the man.
Officers convinced the man to come out. He was noticeably intoxicated and stumbled around, making suicidal statements, the arrest report states. He was placed into a patrol car after refusing to walk or stand. During transport to jail, he slipped his arms out front and began pounding on the cage saying he was going to hurt the officer so that the officer would shoot him. Once at jail the man was taken to a padded cell. Bail: $1,137.
— A 54-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday, 12:42 a.m. in the area of Robinson and Fall streets on misdemeanor charges of destruction of private property and probation violation.
According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to the 800 block of North Carson Street in reference to a dispute between two men in the parking lot. Officers spoke with the victim who said the suspect broke the windshield of his vehicle with a rock and attempted to fight him.
The victim also said the man threw a rock at him, striking him in the leg and then took of running. The victim wanted a citizens arrest made on the suspect for destruction of property, the arrest report states. The suspect was found in the area of Robinson and Fall streets and was placed into custody. Dispatch confirmed the man was on Alternative Sentencing. Bail: $3,637.
— An 18-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday, 5:54 a.m. in the 600 block of Hot Springs Road on suspicion of misdemeanor violation of bail conditions. According to the arrest report, the man had been drinking, a violation of conditions through Alternative Sentencing. He blew a .158 BAC. Bail: $3,000.
