Carson City Rifle and Pistol Range annual passes available following $800K in improvements
With support from the Nevada Department of Wildlife Hunter Education Program, Federal Aid in Wildlife Restoration Act and Carson City’s Capital Improvement Program, the City recently invested more than $800,000 into its Rifle and Pistol Range.
Improvements included upgrades to berms and backstops, target frames and holders, drainage, signage and storage. Go here to see a video presentation.
Range amenities:
— 300-yard range includes 20 covered shooting stations with tables and 20 uncovered prone shooting stations
— 50-yard pistol range with 20 covered shooting stations with tables
— 4 shooting bays
— ADA restrooms
On May 21, 2020, the Carson City Board of Supervisors approved a fee schedule to subsidize operations and facility maintenance for the Rifle and Pistol Range, effective July 2020.
The fee schedule provides for drop-in use, annual passes, commercial and non-profit users, volunteer incentives, special events, and sponsorship opportunities.

Public Hours: Thursdays through Sundays, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Daily Fees: In State: $5 per shooter; Out of State: $10 per shooter. Fee boxes and pay envelopes are available on-site.
Annual Passes: Passes range from $0-$150. Veterans are free and discounted passes are available for youth, seniors, and families.
During operating hours, the range is monitored by Range Safety Officers (RSO), who are certified by the National Rifle Association (NRA). RSOs are available to provide assistance and answer questions on range guidelines.

Passes may also be purchased in person at the Carson Aquatic Facility in Mills Park or at the Multipurpose Athletic Center (MAC) located off of Highway 50 at 1860 Russell Way.
