Happening Today: ‘Cowboy Challenge’ fundraiser, family fun day to raise money for Douglas Mounted Posse, riders wanted
On July 29, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Mounted Posse will host a "Cowboy Challenge:" an obstacle course challenge and family fun day.
The Cowboy Challenge will raise funds for the mounted posse as well as community scholarship and trade schools.
The fun begins at 8 a.m. and continues through 3 p.m. at the Douglas County Fairgrounds, located at 920 Dump Road.
In addition to the obstacle course, for which there will be an adult league for over 18 and a junior league for under 18, attendees will find a bounce house, petting zoo, craft fair, food trucks, silent auctions, and much more!
Riders are still being sought; to enter, the cost is $45 for adult riders and $35 for junior riders.
The events are timed, and sharing of horses is not allowed.
Entries must be paid by July 15.
Canned food is also being collected for the Food Closet on the day of.
