Big game applicant from Carson City wins $1,000 gift certificate

Robert B. Lincoln, a sportsman from Carson City, has won a $1,000 gift certificate, an incentive for applying ear¬ly for a 2011 Big Game tag.
Lincoln was notified via phone by Don Sefton of Systems Consultants, the sponsor of the gift certificate.
“The winner had the option to choose a gift certificate to Cabela’s, Scheels or Bass Pro and chose Cabela’s,” said Sefton. “It was a very exciting phone call to make, and Mr. Lincoln was thrilled to win the incentive prize.”
Lincoln was also a successful Big Game tag applicant this year, drawing a mule deer tag.
The Nevada Board of Wildlife Commission during their August and December 2010 meetings requested NDOW to examine incentive options that might encourage applicants to submit applications earlier during the application process, thus avoiding the rush of applications normally experienced nearing the close of the deadline.
The commission approved Systems Consultants, the contractor for the Big Game tag draw process, to go forward with sponsoring the incentive to apply early for the 2011 Big Game tag draw.
Applicants who applied early in the process were eligible for the incentive draw. This incentive was available to online applicants only.
NDOW employees, Board of Wildlife Commissioners and Department Deputy Attorney Generals were not eligible.
