Capital City Brewfest, Levitt AMP Music Series to draw thousands into Carson City on Saturday
Thousands will pack Carson City venues during the Capital City Brewfest and Levitt AMP Carson City Music Series on Saturday, June 22.
Both events feature live entertainment and plenty of refreshments all while soaking in the cool summer breeze.
The Capital City Brewfest will be held at downtown Carson City from 3 to 8 p.m. Nearly two dozen breweries and several food trucks will line the newly redesigned Curry Street to help participants chill out from the heat.
Live music by indie pop group The Belle Sounds will headline this year’s event. The band will perform beginning at 5 p.m. on the stage in McFadden Plaza.
Fronted by the husband and wife duo of Noelle Hampton on lead vocals and Andre Moran on electric guitar, The Belle Sounds are California natives turned Austin Texas residents.
When they are not touring with their band, The Belle Sounds are fixtures on the Austin music scene and are considered some of the best musicians in the music centered city. Hampton and Moran have made a name for themselves with a combination of lush guitar work, vibrant keys and synths, three part harmonies and heartfelt, melodically infectious hooks. Brewfest attendees will enjoy their energetic live show.
Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Carson City and The Fox Brewpub, all proceeds benefit Rotary’s youth leadership and scholarship programs.
The Rotary Club of Carson City Foundation was established in 1983. Since 2002, the Foundation has awarded over $150,000 in local scholarships; funded $13,400 to Rotary Youth Leadership Academy, $200,000 to the Cancer Center for the labyrinth and gifted $25,000 to Western Nevada College for the Student Library.
Tickets are just $30 in advance, $35 at the door and are available from any Rotary member and at www.capitalcitybrewfest.com. Designated driver tickets are available at the gate for just $5.00.
The Levitt AMP outdoor concert takes place at the Brewery Arts Center at 7 p.m. located at the Change Companies stage on Minnesota Street.
Presented by the BAC, the fourth annual Levitt AMP Music Series helps transform the heart of downtown Carson City’s Historic District into a thriving cultural destination.
The series runs every Saturday at 8 p.m. from June 22 to Aug. 24, featuring an electric lineup of various artists and styles of music. One opening act will kick-off the concert at 7 or 7:30 p.m. before the headline performance.
Antsy McClain & the Trailer Park Troubadours will be the headline performance on Saturday. McClain delivers a relatable blend of humor and heart through in-depth storytelling and songwriting. As a prolific artist with 15 albums, his honest and down-to-earth style has helped him share his tales through platforms such as PBS, NPR and TEDTalks.
Between his relatable nature and playful performance, the audience can leave feeling like they’ve gained a friendly companion. McClain will look to deliver that same performance to attendees in Carson City.
