Amodei announces new additions to team
Nevada Congressman Mark Amodei had added several new faces to his office staff including Bernie Curtis, who recently retired as chief of the Nevada Division of Parole and Probation.
Curtis, of Gardnerville, will serve as field representative in Amodei’s Reno office. He brings more than 36 years of experience from across Northern Nevada in law enforcement, local government and the private sector, including serving as Douglas County Commissioner. Curtis joins Amodei’s staff in a part-time capacity and will undertake outreach to local government, law enforcement and the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
Other additions are:
Tracy Soliday, of Reno, will serve as constituent service representative in Amodei’s Reno office. A former regional representative for U.S. Senator John Ensign, Soliday is a graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno and comes to Amodei’s office from the Silver Legacy Resort & Casino where she oversaw public relations efforts. For Amodei, she will focus full time on assistance for veterans and the military.
Lauren Currie, of Reno, will serve as legislative correspondent in Amodei’s Washington, D.C. office. A recent graduate of the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University and a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society, Currie has experience with two different congressional offices, including an internship in Amodei’s Washington, D.C. office last summer. Currie will be responsible for coordinating responses to the numerous letters, emails and other constituent inquiries to Amodei’s office.
Ken Brooke, of Reno, will serve as a constituent service representative in Amodei’s Reno office. A graduate of McQueen High School, he is currently an economics major at University of Nevada, Reno. Active in community service and politics, Brooke joins Amodei’s staff in a part-time capacity and will assist constituents with cases involving education, health care, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, housing, the IRS and the postal service. Last year, Brooke served as an intern in Amodei’s Reno office.
“I am thrilled to be able to bring this depth of experience, intelligence and work ethic on board to serve the people of Northern Nevada,” said Amodei. “My offices are there for my constituents, so please come in to meet and welcome the new members of the team. They will also continue our active outreach to the 11 counties that make up Nevada’s second district, so you can expect to see them in your neck of the woods, too.”
Amodei also welcomed four summer interns to his Reno and Washington, D.C. offices.
Erin Collins, of Pleasanton, Calif., studies public relations and economic theory at the University of Nevada, Reno where she is president of the College Republicans. Collins brings writing ability and social media experience from the political and private sector to Amodei’s Washington, D.C. office.
Zach Boyden, of Reno, studies history, economics and politics at Willamette University. A graduate of Earl Wooster High School, he was recently accepted to the Boyd Law School at UNLV and serves in Amodei’s Washington, D.C. office. He previously served as an intern in Amodei’s Reno office.
Austin Slaughter, of Reno, studies political science and English literature at the University of Nevada, Reno. An Eagle Scout and dean’s list student, the Reno High School graduate works in Amodei’s Reno office.
Kenny Tedford, of Fallon, studies history at the University of Nevada, Reno. The Churchill County High School graduate is active in the community as a volunteer and will serve in Amodei’s Reno office, as well.
