Carson City man jailed on multiple charges alleging sex crimes against children
A 41-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday on multiple charges that allege sex crimes against children, a Carson City Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Team deputy said.
Because the arrest involves an allegation of incest among the dozen criminal charges, Carson Now is not naming the suspect, who lives in the 1100 block of Woodside Drive.
The man was arrested at 7:05 p.m. He faces a felony count of incest, five counts sexual assault, sexual assault on a child under 14 years of age, sexual assault on a child under 16 years of age, lewdness with a child under 14 years of age, two counts battery with intent to commit sexual assault against a child under the age of 16 and battery with intent to commit sexual assault. He’s being held on $250,000 bail.
In other arrests:
— A 27-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday, 10:31 p.m. in the 3400 block of Imperial Way for misdemeanor suspicion of domestic battery.
According to the arrest report, deputies were called to an apartment residence. The victim, who locked herself in a bedroom, said her husband shoved her to the ground during an argument while she was holding their five-year-old son. The suspect at first denied being physical and told a deputy his wife cut him with a knife.
He later recanted his story after he was arrested, saying he cut his leg on a fence by a dumpster as he attempted to flee police, the arrest report states. The suspect admitted to pushing his wife and confirmed he made up the story about his wife cutting him so he would not go to jail, explaining to the arresting deputy that he was being cowardly and wanted to own up to what happened. Bail: $3,137.
— A 56-year-old female transient was arrested Thursday, 12:43 p.m. in the area of Emerson and the I-580 underpass for gross misdemeanor suspicion of indecent exposure.
According to the arrest report, the woman had reportedly been lying on a bike path north of a fast food restaurant. A female deputy observed the woman wearing jean pants and tennis shoes without clothing on her torso, exposing her breasts.
The woman appeared to have mental health issues and was asked to put her shirt on. The woman got up and with her property walked away from the officer. She was found minutes later lying on the ground under an underpass and became highly agitated with a Mobile Outreach Safety Team member who works with people who suffer with mental illness. Bail: $2,500.
— A 49-year-old Carson City woman, Jennifer Annette Moose, as arrested Thursday, 11:28 p.m. in the 1700 block of North Carson Street for felony suspicion of parole and probation violation and misdemeanor violation of Alternative Sentencing conditions. According to the arrest report the woman had been drinking, a violation of conditions. She provided a preliminary breath test of .239 and was arrested. Bail: $3,000.
— A Carson City woman was arrested Thursday, 11:22 p.m. in the 1700 block of North Carson Street for a misdemeanor violation of Department of Alternative sentencing conditions. The woman had been drinking, a violation of conditions. Bail: $1,000.
