Carson City's Sonoma Park to close for renovation project
UPDATE: 3:46PM: Sonoma Park in Carson City will be closed for a renovation project Monday, June 18 and will open up to normal activities on June 20.
Carson City Parks and Recreation and Open Space will be installing an additional drinking fountain in the park. This drinking fountain will have a dog friendly fountain attached to it as well. It is not a dog water feature, just a dog friendly water fountain, said David Navarro, Parks Operations Superintendent.
"This park sees a lot of use during this time of the year and in order for us to install this fountain, we need to close the park down to construct a concrete pad, run a water line and mount the drinking fountain to the pad," he said. "Thanks to the Parks for Paws and the Foundation for Carson City Parks and Recreation for its donation to make this renovation project a success."
Sonoma Park is located at 1003 Sonoma Street in Carson City.
If you have any questions about the project that is being performed during this period, please contact David Navarro, Parks Operations Superintendent, at (775) 283-7346.
