South Tahoe gaming 'wins' up sharply for April, Carson City down 3 percent
Statewide gaming revenues for Nevada casinos were down about a half of a percent in April, with a 3 percent decrease for the Carson City area, but up by nearly 15 percent for South Shore Lake Tahoe, the state's Gaming Control board reports this morning.
Nevada’s nonrestricted gaming licensees reported a total “gaming win” of $806,049,852 for April. This amounts to a 0.58 percent decrease compared to April 2010, when licensees reported a gaming win of $810,740,516. For the fiscal year (July 1, 2010 through April 30, 2011), gaming win has increased 0.56 percent, according to the monthly gaming survey.
Lake Tahoe casino "wins" for Stateline, in Douglas County were up sharply in April comparatively than a year ago. Stateline casino wins were reported at $14,376,401 for April, as compared to $12,502,162 in 2010. The numbers amount to 14.99 percent increase. For the fiscal year, Stateline is down about 7 percent.
In the Carson City and Carson Valley area, which includes Gardnerville and Minden, casinos generated $8,336,432 in revenue for April. Last year, for the month, casinos generated $8,623,866.
