Carson City men pen book on bars in Nevada
What do you get when four friends tour the back roads, alleyways, towns and venues drinking beer? A good weekend with a chance of a hangover?
For Frank Smith, Jim Kiernan, Larry Messina and Bob Fredlund what you get are a lot of good times, camaraderie and a book out of the deal. Fresh off the presses these four gentlemen from Carson City — two realtors and two retired executives — have put together the book: Bars of Nevada, The Historical, Hysterical and Barely Standing.
“As a country entertainer for more than a few years, I’ve seen — and played — my share of backwater bars, honky-tonks, and taverns. I’ve been to city pubs and country watering holes, and enjoyed the variety of characters I’ve met in both," says award-winning artist Lacy J. Dalton in the book's forward. "This is a wonderful catalog of those interesting places. These truly are the “historical, hysterical and barely standing ... and Frank, Larry, Jim and Bob have captured their essence in an informative and playful style.”
With photographs, witty quips and quotes scattered throughout tidbits of history this book is truly a fun way to get to know some of the fun side of Nevada history.
These books make a great afternoon read and an even better gift for that someone who has everything. To get your copy please contact Bars of Nevada Publication at (775) 315-0141 or by email to BarsofNevada@NevadaStyle.net or check them out on Facebook, www.facebook.com/BarsofNevada.
