Lynn Hettrick recognized at 2017 Nevada Legislature, added to Assembly Wall of Distinction
The Nevada Assembly on Monday recognized Lynn Hettrick, Nevada Department of Agriculture Plant Industry administrator and former Assembly member, as a new addition to its Wall of Distinction.
The Assembly Wall of Distinction, established in 2005, honors members who have distinguished themselves with exemplary contributions to the State of Nevada in their public service to its residents and in their professional and private lives.
Hettrick served as a Nevada assembly member from 1992 to 2006 (representing Douglas County and portions of Carson City and Washoe County), minority leader from 1997–2005 and co-speaker of the assembly in 1995. He served on several committees, including the Committee on Natural Resources, Agriculture and Mining, and represented Nevada in several national organizations.
The Nevada Department of Agriculture promotes a business climate that is fair, economically viable and encourages a sustainable environment that serves to protect food, fiber and human health and safety through effective service and education. NDA includes the divisions of Administration, Animal Industry, Consumer Equitability, Food and Nutrition and Plant Industry.
