Pie Throw fundraiser collects $2,500 for Carson City’s FISH
The Pie Throw fundraiser held last Friday for Carson City’s FISH came away with just over $2,500 along with a barrel full of non-perishable food items and about 65 egg cartons, according to fundraiser host Jeffery Pace.
Pace, owner of Artsy Fartsy Art Gallery in Carson City, decided to hold the event due to the fact that this past year, more community members than ever found themselves in need of FISH’s help due to the pandemic.
Those who volunteered to be pie’d included Supervisor Lisa Schuette, Pace, Margie Quirk from Lone Mountain Vet Hospital, FISH’s Executive Director Jim Pie Peckham, and many others.
Mayor Lori Bagwell and Sheriff Ken Furlong also volunteered for the event, but a $5,000 donation was required to pie either one of them.
This event could find itself occurring again so long as the community finds it fun to pie their local officials and others.
