Carson City arrests: Warrants land jaywalkers in jail
Two were booked Sunday for warrants and other alleged offenses after they were caught jaywalking, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
Christopher Allen Ferreira of Diamond Springs, Calif., was booked for a felony stolen property warrant issued out of El Dorado County with a $20,000 bail amount. He was also booked for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and two misdemeanor offenses, jaywalking and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The other arrest was a 59-year-old Texas man who was booked for misdemeanor suspicion of jaywalking and a failure to appear traffic citation from the Nevada Highway Patrol.
According to the booking report, a deputy nearly struck the men who were jaywalking outside of a crosswalk near a south Carson Street casino. The deputy stopped the two and learned of the felony warrant for Ferreira and misdemeanor warrant for the other man and detained them both. During an incident search, the deputy located a small bindle of suspected methamphetamine in Ferreira's left jacket pocket, the report states. Bail for Ferreira: $23,709. Bail for the Texas man: $367.

A 43-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Monday for a felony warrant alleging fraud, according to a sheriff's office booking report. Athiena Starr Stafford was taken into custody at 12:26 p.m. The warrant was issued April 30, 2021 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail; $5,000.
— A 47-year-old Carson City man, Christoper Grayless Edge, was arrested Monday for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, a felony, and misdemeanor suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia and probation violation. Bail: $4,137.
— A 36-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Monday in the 1600 block of Airport Road for suspicion of disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor offense.
According to the booking report, deputies responded at 12:48 p.m. for a domestic dispute call. Deputies made contact with the female suspect, who was standing outside on a balcony and yelling at a male downstairs.
A deputy investigating learned the woman had been drinking and was yelling at the neighbors. She was told by at least one person to keep it quiet as they were trying to sleep, according to the report.
A deputy made contact with the woman, who was asked if she would complete a preliminary breath test. The woman was unable to complete the test. One person signed a citizen's arrest form and the woman was taken into custody. Bail: $242.
— A 43-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday in the area of Plaza and Proctor streets for suspicion of gross misdemeanor violation of a temporary protection order. Bail: $2,000.
— A 60-year-old Carson City man was booked Monday into Carson City jail for a misdemeanor warrant issued out of Reno Municipal Court. Bail: $2,500.
