Douglas man booked on suspicion of kidnapping, false imprisonment
On April 27, 2016 at 10:45 am, The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a physical domestic dispute that initially occurred in the 800 block of Short Court in the Gardnerville Ranchos.
Deputies responded and learned the physical domestic occurred between Joshua Albericci, age 32, and Jessica Albericci, age 29. Jessica fled to a nearby friend’s residence.
Joshua Albericci followed Jessica to the second address and he forced Jessica into a vehicle while armed with a firearm. Joshua left with Jessica in a westbound direction.
Douglas County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from El Dorado Sheriff’s Office, NHP, CHP, Washoe County Sheriff’s Helicopter – Raven, FBI, US Forest Service and Alpine County Sheriff’s in searching for Joshua who was considered armed and dangerous
At 12:35 pm, Alpine County Sheriff’s Office reported they observed a vehicle matching the one being driven by Joshua parked on Blue Lakes Road, in Alpine County. Alpine County Sheriff’s Office reported they found the victim, Jessica Albericci near the vehicle safe and unharmed.
Following a short standoff, Joshua Albericci was taken into custody by Alpine County Sheriff’s Office and booked into El Dorado County Jail. He was booked on kidnapping, false imprisonment, possession of an assault weapon, felon in possession of a firearm, destruction or concealment of evidence, obstructing or resisting arrest. Joshua Albericci’s bail has been set at $300,000.
Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is continuing the investigation and will be seeking extradition of Joshua to face charges here in Douglas County. A booking photo is not yet available for Joshua.
