Car chase near schools lead to arrest, multiple cars struck by suspect
UPDATE 4:10 p.m.: According to Carson City School District Public Information Officer Dan Davis, the schools were not put on lockdown because the children had been released for the day at 3:15 p.m., and the sheriff's office called at 3:20 p.m. after students were already out of the building. However, teachers were notified and were asked to be cautious.

A car chase that began in the area of Highway 50 and Crane and ended in the 700 block of 5th street led to Bordewich Bray Elementary and Fremont Elementary School being briefly placed on lockdown.
The suspect led deputies on a chase through the 5th Street and Crane area, refusing to pull over for law enforcement.
It appears multiple other vehicles may have been hit during the pursuit.
One person is in custody after the pursuit ended.
Medics and fire department first responders are currently enroute to the scene.
Motorists should avoid the area.
It is unknown at this time what led to the pursuit.
Traffic is shut down on Thompson and 5th as of 3:19 p.m.
