Nine Carson City area businesses cited during alcohol compliance check

The Leisure Hour Club’s scholarship recipients and Western Nevada College will be the focus of the Club’s dinner meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 15. As part of the Club’s commitment to education, three $1,000 academic scholarships are funded at Western Nevada College annually. This year the recipients are:

Following the guidance of the state of Nevada, Carson City School District (CCSD) will be administering retroactive diplomas to all former students who qualify under the new requirements set by the Nevada Department of Education.

When gaming and tech companies unveiled a ballot measure to restructure Nevada’s power market last year, NV Energy’s response was minimal. CARSON CITY — Less than a month from opening night, The Polar Express Train Ride is on its way to another sold out season. Even with additional dates this year, tickets to the popular holiday train are more than 70 percent purchased. Families are encouraged to purchase tickets now for a magical trip running from Nov. 18 through Dec. 30.

A 25-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Thursday for a misdemeanor warrant out of Douglas County, driving with a license revoked for DUI and failure to yield, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
