Carson City crime log: Arrests made for domestic battery, DUI and warrants
A 25-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Thursday for a misdemeanor warrant out of Douglas County, driving with a license revoked for DUI and failure to yield, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
According to the arrest report, the deputy observed the driver fail to yield the right of way to a car attempting to turn right from northbound traffic. The car was forced to slam on its brakes to avoid hitting the suspect driver.
During the traffic stop the officer learned the woman had a confirmed warrant for her arrest in Douglas County. Dispatch further advised the woman’s license was revoked for a previous DUI. She was still within the 90-day revocation period. She was arrested at 7:39 p.m. in the 1900 block of North Carson Street. Bail: $4,224.
In other bookings:
— A Reno man was arrested Thursday in the 3200 block of Imperial Way for a misdemeanor failure to comply warrant issued Jan. 19, 2016 out of Reno Municipal Court. He is being held without bail awaiting extradition.
— A 49-year-old Carson City woman was booked Thursday into Carson City jail for a violation of suspended sentence warrant issued Oct. 19, 2012. According to the arrest report, the woman turned herself in on the warrant. Bail: $3,000.
– A 25-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Thursday, 9:01 a.m. in the area of Menlo Court for misdemeanor suspicion of domestic battery. According to the arrest report deputies were called to the location and learned two roommates got into an argument that turned physical. The victim was struck in the nose during the argument by either the suspect’s knee or foot. Deputies observed blood on the victim’s nose, face and clothing. Bail: $3,137.
— A 40-year-old Carson City woman, Jennifer Carwile, was booked into jail Wednesday, 10:45 a.m. for a felony fugitive from justice warrant that was extraditable and issued out of Texas. Bail: $1,000.
— A 35-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Wednesday, 5:18 p.m. for a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant issued June 29, 2017 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $741.
— A 21-year-old Dayton man was arrested Wednesday, 3:57 a.m. in the area of Arrowhead and Shady Tree Lane for suspicion of DUI and failure to maintain a lane. According to the arrest report, deputies were called to the area regarding a single vehicle accident where the driver swerved to miss a deer and struck a power pole.
The arriving deputy made contact with the driver and observed the power pole was severed in two and the electrical lines were dangerously hanging, the report states.
The driver told deputies he was not injured and said that he was driving his vehicle at 30 mph and swerved to miss a deer in the road and that is when he struck the pole. He told the deputy he was going home to Dayton from a party in Reno.
A deputy observed the man had dilated pupils that did not react to light and that he was very unsteady on his feet. The deputy could smell an odor of marijuana coming from his person. The deputy asked if he had smoked any marijuana. The man told him he has a medical card. He was asked if he had taken any medication and he said he took Trazadone, Hydroxyzine and Fluoxetine. The man agreed to a field sobriety test and showed impairment on all tests. Bail: $1,224.
— A 30-year-old Arizona woman was arrested Wednesday in the 3200 block of Market Street at Walmart for a misdemeanor failure to appear in traffic court warrant issued May 25, 2017. Bail: $930.
