Bill would expand anti-bullying and cyber-harassment protections
A proposed bill aimed at protecting school children that would expand the legal means of bullying, including internet harassment and intimidation, has been introduced into the Nevada Legislature. Senate Bill 275 is sponsored by Sen. Sheila Leslie, D-Reno and Sen. David Parks, D-Las Vegas.

Many states have enacted "cyberstalking" or "cyberharassment" laws or have laws that explicitly include electronic forms of communication within more traditional stalking or harassment laws. Recent concerns about protecting minors from online bullying or harassment have led states to enact "cyberbullying" laws, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures.
Cyber-bullying, online stalking, harassment and outright outing of victims have become a rapidly growing problem in the U.S. Dealing with these problems has been challenging for law enforcement because of the anonymous nature of the Internet, however new laws, better tracking, lawsuits and class action lawsuits have begun to surface meant to protect victims of Internet stalking, threats and harassment.
